TEDDY BEAR TOSS PLANNED FOR DEC. 20 RUNNIN’ REBEL GAME

Donations to benefit the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation; first 500 fans to bring a new, stuffed toy to receive $5 concession voucher

The 2nd Annual Teddy Bear Toss is scheduled for halftime of the UNLV men’s basketball game vs. Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at the Thomas & Mack Center. The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new, stuffed toy to participate. The stuffed toys will be collected by and donated to the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation. The first 500 fans to arrive at the game with a new, stuffed toy will receive a $5 concession voucher, which may be used that evening.

“We are happy to be able to partner with the Clark County Fire Department during the holiday season,” UNLV Director of Athletics Desiree-Reed Francois said. “We appreciate all they do for our community as well as the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation’s commitment to improving the lives of children and families who have suffered.”

Halftime festivities will begin with a “Teddy Bear” themed performance by the Rebel Starzz.

“The Clark County Fire Department is excited to partner with UNLV Athletics and the Runnin’ Rebel basketball team for the 2nd Annual Teddy Bear Toss,” said Greg Cassell, Clark County Fire Chief. “The teddy bears are donated to the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation and this is a great opportunity for our community to come together during the holidays!”

The Runnin’ Rebels, who are off to an 8-2 start this season, play at Pacific on Saturday, Dec. 16 before returning home.
