Two UNLV volleyball student-athletes have been invited to play for the Mountain West’s Global Challenge Team in Europe in mid-July, the conference announced Wednesday.
Rising senior Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos and rising junior Chloe Thomas will both represent the Rebels at the event, which includes stops in Slovenia, Croatia and Italy from July 13-23.
The team will spend five days in Maribor, Slovenia to train, visit with club and national teams, as well as see the sights. The competition will take place from July 18-21 in Pula, Croatia. To wrap up the tour, the team will spend a day sightseeing in Venice, Italy, before returning home to the United States.

She ranked fourth in the conference in kills per set (3.65) and was fifth in points per set (3.98). She also earned Academic All-District honors last season.
Thomas, a 6-foot-1-inch outside hitter, was also named Academic All-District last season. She recorded 217 kills and 80 total blocks in 31 matches played.
