TACOS & TEQUILA PARTICIPATES IN 2012 SPRING RESTAURANT WEEK TO BENEFIT THREE SQUARE FOOD BANK

TACOS & TEQUILA PARTICIPATES IN 2012 SPRING RESTAURANT WEEK TO BENEFIT THREE SQUARE FOOD BANK

Tacos and Tequila (T&T) will welcome Spring Las Vegas Restaurant Week™ Monday, February 27 through Sunday, March 4 at Luxor Hotel and Casino. The week will showcase culinary creations that include delectable menus to help benefit Three Square Food Bank. ™

T&T will offer two delicious menus to raise money for the worthy cause. The first menu, available for lunch only, is priced at $20.12 and will feature three courses. Guests may choose from T&T’s Homemade Guacamole, a chopped or Caesar salad or tortilla soup for an appetizer.  The main entrée will allow diners the option of a half Torta Sandwich (chicken, carnitas or carne asada), the Sonoran Hot Dog, a delicious hot dog wrapped in smoked bacon and topped with beans, pico de gallo, onions and jalapeños, or the Matador Burger, topped with a three-cheese blend and finished with homemade guacamole.  For dessert, T&T will offer patrons the choice of its decadent Tres Leches Cake, Flan or the Morenita Chocolate Brownie.

The second menu option, available for lunch and dinner, is priced at $30.12 and also will feature three courses.  For starters, diners may choose from T&T’s tasty quesadillas, beef flautas or a Caesar salad.  The main course entrées include T&T’s mouthwatering Combo Tacos, the Chicken Tamal with a shaved taco and beef enchiladas, the Pork Carnitas with a Chicken Tamal and a cheese enchilada or the Veggie Quesadilla with chile relleno and roasted corn. For the final course, guests will indulge in the Tres Leches Cake, the Morenita Chocolate Brownie or the Chocolate Quesadilla, filled with Nutella hazelnut spread and sliced bananas.

Named one of the best tequila bars of 2011 in America by USA Today, Tacos & Tequila embodies the cool modernism of Mexico City while incorporating traditional elements of Mexican style and Las Vegas flair. The color mixture of old and new creates a vivid picture of brushed aluminum, dark wood, leather, bright fabrics and colored glass. The focal point of T&T’s design is its abstract sombrero composed of 20 brushed-aluminum panels featuring thousands of laser-cut images, including two 30-foot dancing, tequila-drinking skeletons. Lit from within, the breathtaking panels stretch across the entire length of the restaurant floor and across the common area, connecting the T&T retail store and walk-up daiquiri bar.

About Restaurant Week:

Now in its fifth year, Las Vegas Restaurant Week gives restaurants in our community the opportunity to give back through the culinary arts. What began in 2007 as the vision of MGM Grand food and beverage executives David McIntyre and Scott Hamilton as a way to raise funds and awareness about Three Square Food Bank has now become one of the most anticipated weeks of the year. We are proud to report that since 2007 over 600,000 meals have been provided for those in need. All proceeds from Restaurant Week remain in Las Vegas and help Three Square in its fight to end hunger in Southern Nevada.  Participating restaurants create menus for breakfast, lunch or dinner and select a donation of $4, $5, or $6 for each meal sold.  For more information on Restaurant Week and Three Square Food Bank, visit www.helpdineoutlv.org.
