Tacos and Tamales Festival’s Entertainment Line-Up Promises a Weekend of Family Fun!
Save Ferris, Latin Breeze, Arise Roots, and Bardo all headline the festival at the brand-new Event Center at Desert Breeze March 28-30
Whether Lucha Libre, live art or music, guests of all ages can enjoy family fun at the Tacos and Tamales Festival. Presented by Clark County Parks & Recreation, Tacos and Tamales not only offers a culinary adventure sure to delight the most discerning taste buds but gives attendees three entertainment-packed days with two stages of music, live painting by area artists, Lucha Libre all-festival long, and closing fireworks each night. Tacos and Tamales is March 28 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., March 29 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and March 30 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the newly constructed Event Center at Desert Breeze (8455 Kidz Zone Parkway at Durango Drive and Twain Avenue).
Las Vegas’ own DJ Thump will kick off each day of the festival and provide sounds to keep the festival going throughout the nightly fireworks. The original Warlord of WeirdÔ, Sinn Bodhi brings his Lucha Libre Las VegasÔ straight to the ring with eight, high-action wrestling bouts each day on Saturday and Sunday, four on Friday, giving fans of the sport the perfect opportunity to cheer on their favorite luchador and check out the action from the middle of the festival. Throughout the three-day festival, attendees can also watch live painting by area artists or listen to a variety of cultural music, including local Mariachi bands, Rocanlover, Tacvbar, El Primer Instinto coming from the Star of the Desert Arena Stage presented by Primm Valley Casino Resorts. Throughout the festival, guests young and old can enjoy the carnival with games, attractions, and rides.
The Findlay Stage features a wide variety of music from traditional and modern Mexican to Ska and reggae, giving festival-goers a little something for every musical taste. Friday kicks off with Desmother, followed by Spaghetti Cumbia, and Volume One. The multi-national, Latin Breeze Orchestra headlines night one of Tacos and Tamales, bringing their smooth sounds of salsa, merengue, cumbia, boleros, and much more.
Saturday promises to be a great day of music on the mainstage with The Sonz kicking the day off at 11 a.m. followed by Los Carajos, Red Hot Cholo Peppers, Gizelle, and Raskahuele. Save Ferris headlines the evening with their infectious blend of punk, rock, and ska. Celebrating three decades of music, Save Ferris remains one of the seminal and most beloved bands from the third wave of ska. Save Ferris is currently working on their first new studio album in two decades.
Sunday Tacos and Tamales-goers will enjoy the sounds of Jessica Manalo (currently on “The Voice”), Joseph Soul (former “The Voice” Alumni), and Tomorrow Bad Seeds. Sunday features not one, but two headliners, Arise Roots and Bardo. Originally hailing from the heart of Los Angeles and steadily becoming a household name around the globe, Arise Roots features a group of six veteran musicians uniting their talents to bring a unique and refreshing interpretation of Roots-Reggae with the common goal of preserving its true message. Bardo is the lead songwriter and vocalist for Chicano Batman and has toured throughout the U.S. and Europe. Set to release his first solo album in 2025, he’s embarking on a new phase in his career with some of his most exciting and compelling work to date.
The family-friendly culinary and entertainment festival takes place at the new Event Center at Desert Breeze, a 15-acre facility designed by Clark County Parks & Recreation to host festivals and events for the community to enjoy. Located at Desert Breeze Park, The Event Center at Desert Breeze has nearly 6 acres of programming space with built-in facilities to accommodate a variety of festivals. The park itself has a storied history with large festivals, including Tacos and Tamales Festival, Extreme Thing, Red White & Boom, Vans Warped Tour, Cross Vegas, Petapalooza, and BITE of Las Vegas where Las Vegas’ favorite, Imagine Dragons, had their career-breaking performance that launched them into international superstardom.
Single tickets and multi-day passes are on sale now and available for purchase at tacosandtamaleslv.com. Tickets are required for entry. Single-day tickets are $7 in advance ($12 at the door) for adults 11-59 years old, $3.50 in advance ($7 at the door) for children ages 5-10 and seniors 60 and older, and children four and under are free. Multi-day tickets are $12.50 in advance ($20 at the door). Guests 21 and older can upgrade their experience for $40 with The Walk, an alcohol tasting experience that includes all-day admission and features unlimited tastings of a curated selection of assorted beverages available at multiple booths throughout the event.
