WORLD MAHJONG TOUR™ TO HOST THE LARGEST PRIZE POOL MAHJONG CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT AT HYPERX ARENA IN LAS VEGAS

Total Cash and Prizes up to $100,000

Las Vegas will soon celebrate the Lunar New Year with the launch of a competitive Spring World Mahjong Tour Tournament at HyperX Arena Las Vegas on Feb. 2, 2025. Hosted by HyperX Arena’s parent company Allied Gaming & Entertainment as part of its newly launched World Mahjong Tour, this exciting event will bring elite players from around the globe to compete in a thrilling showcase of Mahjong skill and strategy. Players will have the chance to compete for a total cash and prizes pool of up to $100,000 and various tournament levels will be available for all skill sets.

Building on the immense popularity of Mahjong, the tournament will celebrate its cultural significance while engaging fans worldwide with a public and live streamed event. The tournament will mark a milestone for the World Mahjong Tour as it begins its journey to transform Mahjong into an internationally recognized competitive intellectual sport.

The tournament coincides with Las Vegas’ vibrant Lunar New Year celebrations, and on Feb. 1, 2025, AAPI Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Las Vegas Lunar New Year Festival in Chinatown, celebrating the Year of the Snake with cultural performances, a bustling parade and immersive experiences. At the Festival, Mahjong fans and festivalgoers can enjoy the Mahjong Corner, an interactive zone offering demonstrations and friendly games presented by the World Mahjong Tour.

“Bringing the World Mahjong Tour to HyperX Arena is a groundbreaking moment for both the game of Mahjong and the world of competitive gaming,” said Yinghua Chen, CEO of Allied Gaming & Entertainment/Allied Esports. “This iconic venue, known for hosting premier esports and gaming events, alongside globally recognized shows such as World Poker Tour and many others, provides the perfect stage to showcase Mahjong’s rich cultural heritage and strategic depth to a global audience.
