South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa Restaurants Ring in 2017 with
New Year’s Eve Specialty Menus
South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa offers guests the chance to celebrate the beginning of a new year in style with specialty holiday menus, available Saturday, Dec. 31 at South Point’s most celebrated restaurants, including Don Vito’s, Primarily Prime Rib, Silverado Steak House and the Garden Buffet.
Don Vito’s will serve a four-course menu with a complimentary cocktail or glass of wine for $55 per person from 5 to 11 p.m., including:
- First Course: Lobster Celebration, lobster mousse in a portabello mushroom sauce; Fresh Herb and Roast Garlic Ricotta Dip with parmesan lavosh; or Grilled Long Stem Artichokes with basil pesto and toasted panko crumbs.
- Second Course: Roman Style Chicken Soup, julienne of chicken, peppers, onions and Marzanno tomatoes; or Italian Winter Salad, hardy greens, avocado, pear and walnuts tossed in a honey and orange vinaigrette.
- Third Course: Veal Saltimbocca, scaloppini of veal with prosciutto di parma, fontina cheese and fresh sage with madetra demi glace; Lobster Colorado, bacon wrapped filet of beef and lobster medallions served with black truffle sauce; Lamb Chop Sizzle, garlic roasted center cut lamb chops with red wine reduction; Sautéed Filet of Dover Sole, pan seared filets of Dover Sole over sun dried tomato spaetzle and caper lemon butter; or Shrimp and Scallop Pappardelle, sautéed jumbo shrimps and scallops with chili peppers in vodka cream sauce.
- Fourth Course: Nutella Cheese Cake with hazelnut cream and fresh berries; Strawberry Trifle with fresh whipped cream; or Salted Caramel Bunino with cookies. Served with choice of tea or coffee.
Primarily Prime Rib will serve a three-course menu with a complimentary cocktail or glass of wine for $45 per person from 4 to 11 p.m., including:
- First Course: Curried Crab Salad served in crisp wonton cups; Cheeseburger Spring Roll with Thousand Island dipping sauce; Shrimp Cocktail in horseradish cocktail sauce; or Celebration Salad, bibb lettuce with diced pears, blue cheese and champagne vinaigrette.
- Second Course: Roast Prime Rib of Beef, a 10-ounce dry-aged steak, slowly cooked for full flavor; Chicken Korbel, poached chicken breast served with white grapes, button mushrooms and champagne cream sauce; Basa Provencal, pan seared in caper butter and served over a fresh tomato and garlic sauce; Surf and Turf, a 3-ounce medallion of beef with honey ginger demi and 3-ounce fillet of sea bass with orange ponzu sauce; or New York Steak, 10-ounce steak with sautéed mushroom caps and garlic butter. All entrées are served with choice of chateau or Yukon Gold creamed potatoes, asparagus tips or creamed spinach.
- Third Course: Peanut and Salty Caramel Cream Puff; White Chocolate Mousse Cake with raspberries; or Chocolate Roulade with chestnut whipped cream. Served with choice of tea or coffee.
Silverado Steak House will serve a four-course menu with a complimentary bottle of the “Wine of the Month” for every two people for $69 per person from 5 to 11 p.m., including:
- First Course: Crispy Short Rib Tacos, shredded barbequed short ribs with creamy cole slaw in crisp wonton shells; Seafood Celebration, grilled shrimp on seaweed salad, cup of lobster bisque and crab cake with red pepper cream; Cous Cous Filled Portabello Mushrooms with fresh tomato and basil sauce; or Silverado Shrimp Cocktail with cocktail and Louise Rose sauces.
- Second Course: Consommé Royal with the taste of sherry; Peppered Pear and Spinach Salad with warm balsamic and bacon vinaigrette and a goat cheese crostini; or Sliced Orange, Marinated Figs and Endive Salad with saffron vinaigrette.
- Third Course: Surf and Turf Tower, sautéed shrimp, broiled beef medallion, straw potato crouton, merlot demi and asparagus tips; Asian Seared Sea Bass with rock shrimp, bok choy, rice noodles and saffron broth; Roast Pheasant with Mushroom and Pancetta Jus served with creamed parsnips and braised cabbage; Breast of Chicken Robbie Burns, seared chicken breast over caramelized leeks and mushrooms with Scotch whiskey butter sauce, mashed tatties and bashed neeps with green peas; Filet Mignon, 8-ounce beef tenderloin with merlot reduction, chateau potatoes and green beans; or Blackened Rib-Eye, 12-ounce dry-aged beef that is chipotle spiced, pan seared, served with barbeque and plum sauces and topped with golden fried onion strings, sautéed potatoes and sautéed spinach.
- Fourth Course: Strawberries with Drambuic Cream in a chocolate cup; Chocolate Cake with Kirsch marinated cherries in a sugar cage; or Crème Brulee Trio in classic, strawberry and chocolate flavors. Served with choice of tea or coffee.
The Garden Buffet will serve a delicious New Year’s Eve brunch for $16.95 with a Club Card or $19.95 without a Club Card from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include bottomless Bloody Marys. Guests will find a delicious assortment of a la carte dishes such as Steak and Eggs, Freshly Cooked Omelets, Eggs Benedict and Chantilly, Pancakes with Fruit Toppings, Rotisserie Chicken, Chili Rellenos with Tomatillo Cream, Fresh Seared Salmon and Golden Fried Shrimp. Guests can finish the meal with delectable desserts such as Peach Cobbler, Homemade Bread Pudding, French Pastries and the gelato bar. In addition, guests will enjoy an assortment of soups, salads, fresh fruits and six live international cooking stations.
Additionally, the Garden Buffet will offer guests a New Year’s Eve Seafood Dinner Buffet priced at $25.95 with a Club Card or $29.95 without a Club Card from 4 to 10 p.m. The seafood dinner buffet’s perfect pair of unlimited Champagne will be offered to guests of legal drinking age. The New Year’s Eve buffet offers an assortment of a la carte options including Peel and Eat Shrimp, Oysters on the Half Shell, Crab and Corn Bisque, Pork Cutlets with Green Peppercorn Cream, Roast Prime Rib of Beef, Stuffed Pork Loin, Chipotle Glazed Salmon and more. Guests can satisfy sweet tooth cravings with desserts such as the Build Your Own Strawberry Shortcake, an assortment of Cheesecakes, Cream Pies, Cupcakes and the gelato bar. In addition, guests will enjoy an assortment of soups, salads, fresh fruits and six live international cooking stations.
Regular menus will not be available at Don Vito’s, Primarily Prime Rib and Silverado Steak House on Saturday, Dec. 31.
