RETURNS TO HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO
SOUNDWAVES, poolside concert series located at Hard Rock Pool, returns for the summer to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Located in Paradise Beach at Hard Rock Pool, SOUNDWAVES is a summer concert experience that highlights some of today’s hottest bands and artists in a unique and intimate setting. The 2012 series consists of Snoop Dogg (May 12), Collective Soul (June 8 and Pepper (June 15). Additional bands and artists will be announced at a later date. Tickets for Snoop Dogg go on sale on Friday, March 23 at noon; Collective Soul and Pepper are on sale now.

“The Doggfather” Snoop Dogg kicks off the SOUNDWAVES poolside summer concert series with a legendary performance on Saturday, May 12. In 1993, Snoop Dogg released his debut album Doggystyle which landed at No. 1 on both the Billboard “Hot 100” and R&B charts. Since then, he has released 10 more studio albums and collaborated with some of today’s biggest artists including Dr. Dre, Katy Perry, Too $hort, Coolio and more. He’s been nominated for 13 Grammy awards such as “Best Solo Rap Performance,” “Best Rap Song,” “Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group,” and won a variety of MTV European Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and BET Awards. In addition to music, Snoop Dogg has also made a name for himself in the acting world with roles in movies such as “Half Baked,” “Starsky & Hutch” and “Training Day” as well as television shows including “Weeds,” “Entourage,” “Monk” and more. Snoop Dogg’s newest album, Doggumentary, was released during March 2011.

SOUNDWAVES veteran Collective Soul returns to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s poolside stage to perform their album Dosage cover-to-cover in addition to their hits on Friday, June 8. Collective Soul gained a special place in the hearts of music lovers when they burst onto the scene in 1993 with the rock anthem “Shine.” The self-titled Collective Soul, released in March 1995, became the album that would help define their catchy melodies and guitar driven songs. In 2007, the band released Afterwords, sold exclusively through Target, which opened at No.25 on the Billboard “Comprehensive Albums” chart and No. 5 on the Billboard “Top Internet Albums” chart. “Tremble For My Beloved” found Collective Soul on the soundtrack to Twilight – one of the hottest movies of 2008. In 2009, with new momentum, the band released its eighth album titled Collective Soul (Rabbit), which debuted at No. 24 on Billboard’s “Top 200.” The band was also recently inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

Hawaiian rock band Pepper makes a stop at SOUNDWAVES at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, June 15. Pepper has sold more than half a million records and is most well known for their hit single “Give It Up.” In addition, the band’s songs have been featured on hit soundtracks including “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Good Luck Chuck,” television shows and video games. Performing in major festivals like Lollapalooza, Mile High Festival and West Beach Music Festival, Pepper has gained a large following with many of its songs landing on Billboard’s “Alternative Songs” chart including “No Control” and “Give It Up.”
