Format again includes eight home-and-home series and two one-time games

UNLV men’s basketball announced its 18-game 2018-19 Mountain West schedule on Monday, as the league released the entire lineup of games.

The schedule format for the 11-member conference includes eight home-and-home series and two one-time games. Each institution will play nine home contests and make nine road trips during league action. This is the sixth year that the MW has utilized the 18-game format since expanding to its current membership in 2013-14.

The national television selections are expected to be completed by the middle of August. Regional partner AT&T SportsNet and the Mountain West Network on STADIUM will begin their picks after the national television lineup has been announced.

The 2018-19 MW schedule begins on Wednesday, January 2 with five contests, including UNLV’s conference home opener vs. Colorado State. UNLV will also host (in order) Wyoming, San Jose State, New Mexico, UNR, Fresno State, Air Force, San Diego State and Boise State at the Thomas & Mack Center this season in league play.

The game at home against Fresno State will be the only time the Runnin’ Rebels and Bulldogs will face off during the regular season, while the game at Utah State will be the only time UNLV will face the Aggies. The Runnin’ Rebels will have byes on Saturday, January 12 and Wednesday, March 6.

The conference season plays out over 10 weeks and concludes on Saturday, March 9. League play will determine the seeding for the 2019 MW Men’s Basketball Championship held March 13-16 at the Thomas & Mack Center.

UNLV will release its non-conference schedule when it’s finalized. Game times will be set once all broadcast networks make their selections.
