September brings diverse activities in the Las Vegas Valley and our energized, engaged Meow Wolfers are there for it. Join us? Here is your monthly reminder of where Omega Mart is dancing into different art and community settings.
Here’s what’s happening in September…
National Dance Day Community Storytime event with local dancer and author Hanifa Jackson
- Saturday, September 16th from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. inside AREA15’s “The Wall” space
- Jackson, a veteran of Pennsylvania Ballet, Ballet Hispanico and Alvin Ailey, was a performer in the Lion King on Broadway as well as a lead dancer in Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere.
- She will lead an informal dance workshop and read from her children’s book (available in the adjacent Meow Wolf Gift Shop): Jaxan’s Twinkle Toes “The Big Day.” at this all-ages Community Storytime event.
- Free and open to the public, this fun, family-friendly event hopes to inspire and break down racial barriers in ballet, showing a young black child overcoming her nerves to excel in this art form.
- Meet Jackson and listen as she shares her story and love of dance with the Vegas community.
STEAM Saturdays at the Neon Museum – “Creating with Color”
- Saturday, September 16th from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the Neon Museum
- Life’s a palette… Join us to learn how colors work and how to use them at this colorful event to explore the science and art of color. Participants can learn how to mix colors, create optical illusions, and make their own rainbow. A great chance to brighten a day with creativity!
- Registration is recommended for this fun, family event. Cost is $5 for attendees age 7 and up, children 6 and under are free. Members are FREE. Museums for All guests are FREE with EBT/SNAP/WIC or foster placement letter and valid ID.
- In addition to being a title sponsor of STEAM Saturdays since its inception, Omega Mart volunteers at this monthly event to advocate on behalf of promoting arts and culture in Las Vegas. STEAM Saturdays is a Neon Museum program that offers fun make-and-take activities, hands-on learning, and demonstrations designed to promote creative and critical thinking, and problem solving, promoting a life-long love for the arts and sciences.
National Voter Registration Day with Asian Community Development Council

- We’ll be at Clark High School in partnership with the Asian Community Development Council registering eligible individuals to vote!

National Public Lands Day with Get Outdoors Nevada
- Saturday, September 23 from 8:00 a.m. until noon at Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area
- Help us conserve the world’s of Las Vegas’ multiverse in real time together.
- Join the Meow Wolf team on National Public Lands Day and help us maintain Sloan Canyon’s Petroglyph Trail.
- Registered volunteers will receive a meeting spot map and event details a few days before the event.
- While all ages are welcome, minors without an adult guardian present will need to bring a signed waiver. Waivers will be emailed to registrants prior to the event.

Hispanic Heritage Month
- September 15 – October 15
- All employee donations to select organizations across the multiverse will be matched by Meow Wolf in celebration of the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
