Rebels Wrap Up Regular Season At Home This Weekend

REBELS WRAP UP REGULAR SEASON AT HOME THIS WEEKEND

The UNLV baseball team (19-29, 10-17 MW) will finish its season at home this week by hosting Air Force (25-27, 16-11 MW) starting Thursday at 6:05 p.m. at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The series will continue Friday evening at 6:05 p.m. and the finale is slated for Saturday at 12:05 p.m.

The Falcons come to town after securing a series victory against San Diego State over the weekend, taking two of three games. UNLV comes in after getting swept by Fresno State over the weekend. 

PROMOTIONALLY SPEAKING
Friday:
– It’s $2 Dos Equis with Smoke ‘n’ Sams while supplies last.
Saturday:
– Celebrate Senior Day with the Rebels! Senior Day activities will begin 20 minutes before first pitch at 12:05 p.m.
– $5 mimosas and bloody mary’s with Smoke ‘n’ Sams while supplies last.
– Kids 12-and-under will be able to run the bases after the conclusion of Saturday’s contest.

The three-game series will be streamed on the Mountain West Network and televised live on SSSEN Cox Channel 125.

PREVIOUSLY THIS SEASON
– UNLV and Air Force played a trio of games earlier this season in Colorado Springs when the Rebels secured the series win, taking two of three games, including the finale in a shortened seven-inning game.

HUSTLIN‘ REBELS CLAIM WEEKLY AWARDS
– Reese Lueck received the first Mountain West Player of the Week award for the Rebels this season, being named the Freshman of the Week following UNLV’s perfect opening weekend February 20. Lueck claimed the freshman honors again on May 8 after securing his first career save and a series victory over New Mexico.
– Junior Noah Carabajal was named the Pitcher of the Week following a series victory over UNR on April 10.

LEADERS IN THE MW AND THE NATION
– UNLV is tied for 12th in the NCAA in triples per game (.42) and in sacrifice flies (32), is tied for 14th in triples (20) and ranks 30th in double plays per game (.88).
– The Hustlin’ Rebels rank third in the Mountain West in triples (20), RBIs (293) and runs (338). They also rank fourth in hits (464) and batting average (.274).
– Alex Pimentel leads the conference and is tied for 22nd in the NCAA in triples (5). He is also tied for fourth in walks (30) and in HBP (8), and ranks sixth in on-base percentage (0.430).
– Jacob Sharp is tied for third in the MW in both sacrifice flies with four and in fielding percentage (0.994), tied for fourth in home runs (10), tied for sixth in runs scored (43), sits eighth in slugging percentage (.575) and ranks 10th in batting average (.328).
– Charles sits second in the MW in HBP (10), ranks fifth in runs scored (44), is tied for sixth in stolen bases (8) and is tied for seventh in at bats (200).
– Austin Kryszczuk leads the conference and is tied for 33rd in the NCAA in sacrifice flies (6). He also sits fifth in the MW in walks (29).
– Paul Myro IV is tied for third in the conference in fielding double plays (32), is tied for fourth in HBP (8) and ranks fifth in assists (143).
