Rebels Set For Mountain West Championships In Houston

REBELS SET FOR 2023 MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS IN HOUSTON

The annual MW competition is being held Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 15-18, on the campus of the University of Houston

The UNLV women’s swimming and diving team will travel to the Lone Star State this week to compete in the Mountain West Championships from Wednesday-Saturday Feb. 15-18 at the CRWC Natatorium on the campus of the University of Houston.

 

The meet begins Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. PT with 1-meter diving prelims, followed by a pair of swimming relays to bookend the 1-meter diving finals at 4 p.m. PT. All subsequent event prelims are set to start at 8:30 a.m. PT, preceding each finals session at 4 p.m. PT from Thursday through Saturday.

REBELS ATOP THE MOUNTAIN WEST: UNLV brings several of the conference’s top-5 fastest individual times among the listed competitors for each event at the four-day competition. Spearheading that list with two top-5 times a piece, junior Blanka Bokros has a MW-leading mark in the 200 fly (1:57.11) and the league’s second fastest 100 fly (53.97), while junior Calysta Bartlett is third in the 100 breast (1:01.45) and fifth in the 200 IM (2:02.11). Joining their Scarlet & Gray counterparts near the top of the conference’s psych sheet are freshman Marta Klimek with the second quickest 200 free (1:48.77), freshman Kayleigh Lovell with the fifth fastest 500 free (4:53.20) and freshman Hannah Jones with the fifth best 1650 free (16:49.96).
