CROSS COUNTRY ANNOUNCES 2024 SEASON SCHEDULE

The UNLV cross country program revealed its 2024 season schedule on Friday.
The Rebels, who are under the leadership of second-year head coach Carmelita Jeter and assistant coach Adam Meyer, have six different meets on their schedule, all taking place on the road. The regular-season races will stretch from Aug. 31 through Oct. 19.
The team will open the season at the George Kyte Classic, in Flagstaff, Arizona. The event will be a 2.5-mile run (4k), a distance the Scarlet & Gray haven’t competed in since 2019.
UNLV will have three weeks until their next competition, racing in the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 21. The Rebels hold some history at the UCR Ag Ops course as Natalia Ruiz broke the UNLV program record in the event at the meet last season (17:02.2).
A month will pass before UNLV will compete at the Bronco Invitational in Santa Clara, California, which is another meet that holds a rich background for the program. That 6k race will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Baylands Regional Park. The Rebels will look to continue finding success on that course as nine UNLV cross country all-time performances in the top 15 have been set there.
The team will move into the postseason once the calendar switches to November, opening the month at the 2024 Mountain West Cross Country Championships on Friday, Nov. 1. The meet will take place in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ruiz became the first All-Mountain West runner for UNLV since 2008 at last season’s championships with her honorable mention nod.
The Rebels will aim high at the NCAA West Regional Championships just two weeks after their conference meet, on Friday, Nov. 15. The meet will be hosted by Washington State in Colfax, Washington. Upon qualification, the Scarlet & Gray will travel northeast to Madison, Wisconsin, for the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships. The Thomas Zimmer Championship Course will host the 6k event on Saturday, Nov. 23.
