Last night (Thursday, April 24, 2014), Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant inside MGM Grand Hotel & Casino kicked off the venue’s one-year anniversary celebrations as it welcomed an exclusive VIP event hosted by VEGAS Magazine. The city’s most widely influential publication was on hand to throw a celebratory party boasting the city’s most distinguished guest list. A progressive evening, which started in the architecturally stunning restaurant space, took more than 200 VIPs on a sensual journey as guests experienced the tastes, sights, smells and sounds of Hakkasan.
Greeted upon arrival by traditional Chinese lion dancers moving to festive drums, guests were led into Hakkasan restaurant to experience a vibrant party space filled with intriguing interactive and culinary elements. Beyond its signature latticework caging and tucked away in its Calcutta marble inlays and wood corridors, Hakkasan restaurant presented many surprises for its visitors including a branded photo booth area, were enticed by the beautiful movements of white dragon atmosphere dancers and Chinese calligraphers offered live-painted Chinese characters of wisdom. The event’s guest of honor: Lady Hakkasan was adorned in a custom Hakkasan branded gown, made entirely from red envelopes (a symbol of good luck and fortune). Lady Hakkasan set the evening’s elegant tone by delicately presenting gifts to all who interacted with her.
Furthermore, culinary stations were positioned throughout the space to highlight some of Hakkasan’s distinctive and modern Cantonese cuisine. A Peking duck station featured chefs slicing and serving its famed dish, a mixology station showcasing Hakkasan’s Iron Rose, Buddah’s Palm and Virgin Hakka were crafted in front of the intrigued guests and an interactive dessert display impressed the foodies who attended as its house made macarons and customized chocolate mignardises were the talk of the evening.
After experiencing the extravagant celebration inside the restaurant space, invitees advanced up to the exclusive Ling Ling Lounge, located on the venue’s third-level, for a private cocktail reception. The party continued in the main room of the nightclub where Steve Aoki, fresh off the announcement of his highly anticipated upcoming new album “Neon Future I,” brought his over-the-top party to the venue to commemorate an unforgettable kick-off to anniversary weekend celebrations.
