The luxurious Azure Pool at The Palazzo Las Vegas welcomed NBA All-Star, Shaquille O’Neal on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013. Greeted by cheering fans, Shaq playfully answered questions, shook hands with fans, and posed for the cameras. The buzz about Olympic Gold Medalist, Ryan Lochte’s swimming challenge tweet to O’Neal was addressed on Azure’s blue carpet, to which he jokingly teased “Who is Ryan Lochte?”
Affectionately known for his big personality on and off the court, O’Neal mingled with star-struck fans, and pumped up the jam for Azure guests. Local celebrity, Mark Shunock, who plays “Lonnie” in Rock Of Ages at The Venetian, and the resort’s resident drummers, also made an appearance to top off the star-studded afternoon at the luxurious hotspot.
The DJ kept the crowd moving with Hip Hop favorites and popular summer beats, while O’Neal and friends enjoyed the party vibe in the cabana. The party enjoyed many items from Azure’s signature menu, including fresh fruit, fish tacos, and a veggie pizza. The group also celebrated with Azure cocktails.
