AUTUMN ARRIVES AT THE PALAZZO LAS VEGAS
New art installation features cattails and pumpkins in a salute to autumn
Autumn has arrived inside The Waterfall Atrium and Gardens of The Palazzo® Las Vegas.
The current seasonal display, inspired by nature, took six months to plan and fabricate by the resort’s floral and horticulture teams. Sixteen-foot-tall cattail sculptures are the main feature and were crafted out of 70% recycled steel. The display also features a total of 8,000 pounds of pumpkins, with the largest pumpkin weighing in at 930 pounds.
Throughout the gardens and The Palazzo lobby, guests will also find:
- 60 colossal falling leaves, playfully suspended from the ceiling
- 3,000 preserved cattails
- 3,500 carnations that make up each of the topiary pumpkins in the East and West Gardens
- 800 flowering plants, including chrysanthemums, garden mums, and celosia
- 900 plants of various varieties
The flowers and plants of the display are refreshed biweekly. A team of five gardeners each spend four hours a day maintaining the gardens.
The installation is an encore of sorts to the atrium’s summer display, which artfully evolved throughout the season. Nearing the end of the summer, the seasonal art installation began to show hints of autumn, both in content and color palette. The full transition into autumn was recently completed, taking a crew of 14 team members working 10 hours overnight.
Guests can experience fall at The Palazzo through November 16.
