No. 23 UNLV hosts San Jose State looks to take sole possession of Mountain West title

If sharing is caring, forgive the Lady Rebels for being cruel so soon after Valentine’s Day.

No. 23 UNLV (24-2 overall, 14-0 Mountain West) hosts San Jose State (3-21, 1-12) Thursday, Feb. 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. It’s UNLV’s first shot at capturing sole possession of the 2023 Mountain West Conference regular-season championship after clinching a share last Saturday.

1-2-Free

Tickets are $1 when purchased by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15. UNLV and high school students (with a valid school ID) and all children 12 and under receive free admission.

Fans can enjoy 12 oz $2 Miller Lite beers through halftime (or while supplies last) and the first 2,500 fans will receive a pink Lady Rebels shirt celebrating the Play4Kay initiative to bring awareness to women’s cancers.

One lucky UNLV student (sitting in sections 110 or 111) will receive free tuition for the Fall 2023 semester. The prize will be hidden in a t-shirt toss to be performed during the game.

Broadcast Information

Thursday’s game will be televised locally on the Silver State Sports & Entertainment Network (KVVU 5.2 / Cox 125).

The game will stream live on the Mountain West Network App and theMW.com/watch.

Fans can also listen to UNLV’s live audio with play-by-play announcer Wyatt Tomchek and color analyst Steve Cofield free on Stretch.

Viva Las Vegas

UNLV’s home winning streak is 17 games. It’s the third-longest such streak active in Division I women’s basketball. UNLV’s 15-game overall winning streak is second only to No. 1 South Carolina’s 38 consecutive wins.

Chalk Talks

Thursday’s Chalk Talk will feature UNLV Assistant Coach Karlie Burris beginning at 6 p.m. at The Club on Thomas & Mack Center concourse near the main entrance.

Stacking Up the Spartans
