OVERLOOK LOUNGE DEBUTS AT WYNN LAS VEGAS WITH COCKTAIL PROGRAM FROM RESORT MIXOLOGIST MARIENA MERCER BOARINI
The stunning destination becomes newest venue by President and
Chief Creative Officer of Wynn Design & Development, Todd-Avery Lenahan
Overlook Lounge, Spirits and Aperitifs, recently debuted at Wynn Las Vegas following a dramatic reimagining of the former venue, Parasol Up. Overlook Lounge is a destination cocktail venue with a distinctive personality, featuring an inventive cocktail program from resort mixologist Mariena Mercer Boarini.
With an ideal anchor location in the heart of the hotel, Overlook Lounge offers guests an intimate hideaway overlooking Wynn’s Lake of Dreams waterfall, with glimpses into the resort’s lush atrium. Designed by Todd-Avery Lenahan, President & Chief Creative Officer of Wynn Design & Development, the lounge features décor in rich jewel tones inspired by the intricate mosaic flooring in Wynn’s atrium and is perfectly accented by crystal chandeliers, comfortable period furnishings, stunning artwork, and a classic palette of vintage European design elements that create an opulent and cozy venue to enjoy spirits and aperitifs.
“When creating a cocktail menu, I like to draw influences from the design and atmosphere of the space so that together they tell a cohesive story,” said Mercer Boarini. “With Overlook Lounge, I wanted to celebrate the glamour of the space as well as the romance of aperitifs, so every drink features a name borrowed from the most iconic figures in fashion, film, history, and mythology.”
Mercer Boarini crafted a refined menu featuring five spritzes, five bespoke takes on cocktail classics, and three alcohol-free mocktails. The spritzes are vibrant in color and flavor and are finished with a mist from a series of unique edible aperitif parfums inspired by the most fashionable destinations in the world including Amalfi, which features hints of Sicilian citrus and seawater; Morocco, which was inspired by the magical souks of Marrakech with scents including Bombay chai; Milan, inspired by the aromatics of fashion week highlighted by jasmine and rose; and Paris, which has the richness of a sultry, boutique hotel with notes of red wine and pear. Spritz choices include the Naomi made with Grey Goose Essences White Peach Rosemary Vodka, cardamom, ginger, prosecco, and finished with the Morocco aperitif parfum; the Evangelista featuring Empress 1908 Gin, St. Germain Elderflower, citrus, rosé sparkling, and finished with the Paris aperitif parfum; and the Hudson comprised of El Tesoro Blanco Tequila, grapefruit liqueur, thyme, pink grapefruit bubbles, and finished with the Milan aperitif parfum.
Classic cocktails can also be found on the menu with choices such as the Brando, a take on the New York sour, made with Whistlepig Rye Whiskey, lemon, cardamom, and malbec wine; the Coco, an espresso martini, made with Van Gogh Espresso Vodka, Kahlua, espresso, Madagascar vanilla and bergamot liqueurs, and sage; and the Cleo, a margarita, made with Casamigos Blanco Tequila, agave, dragon fruit, and lime.
Rounding out the menu are a trio of delightful mocktails including the Ava, a zero-proof Italian orange spritz; the Ruby, a sparkling pomegranate and Pompelmo spritz; and the Wilde, an exotic sparkling yuzu lemonade.
Overlook Lounge is the latest in a series of venues set to debut at Wynn Las Vegas throughout 2021 that redefine the resort’s singular guest experience.
Overlook Lounge is open Sunday through Thursday from 2 p.m. until 3 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. until 4 a.m.
