Orleans Arena to Host 2018 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game
Tailgates, Events and Welcome Parties Oct. 26-27
Two of the most storied programs in college hockey, the University of North Dakota and the University of Minnesota, will compete in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Orleans Arena. And, while the game itself is sold-out, a full slate of pregame activities are scheduled at the Orleans Arena for all fans to enjoy, Oct. 26-27.
Team Practices: Team practices on Friday, Oct. 26 are free and open to public to attend. UND is scheduled to skate from 11 a.m. until approximately 12:30 p.m. Minnesota is scheduled to practice from 12:45 p.m. to approximately 2:15 p.m. Fans who wish to watch either team practice must enter the arena through Gate “A” opening at 10:45 a.m.
Official Welcome Party: An official welcome party will be held on Friday, Oct. 26 in the tailgate area at Orleans Arena created specifically for the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game from 3 to 8 p.m. This event is free and open to all fans (with or without game tickets) and will feature food from at least nine different vendors, 12 bars with an enormous selection of beverage options, a huge 15’ X 26’ video board featuring the professional hockey game between Las Vegas and Tampa Bay, a live DJ and a live remote broadcast by ESPN Radio.
Official Pregame Party: All hockey fans are invited to attend the “Official Pregame Party” for the 2018 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game starting at 2 p.m. in the tailgate area outside Orleans Arena on Saturday, Oct. 27. The event is free and open to the public (even if you do not have a ticket to the game). The UND football game versus Weber State will be shown live on the huge video board at the Pregame Party when doors open at 2 p.m.
The Pregame Party will feature groups of UND alumni and UND representatives to begin the countdown to the big game, food from at least nine different vendors, 12 bars with an enormous beverage selection, a live event DJ, a live remote broadcast by ESPN Radio and live music from a local band “Hart Attack.”
At 7 p.m. the game will be broadcast outside on the huge 15’ X 26’ video board for anyone who does not have a ticket to enter the arena. Even those without a ticket won’t miss a single minute of the action the Midco Sports Network broadcast of the game will be shown in the tailgate area. Food and drinks will be available throughout the game – both inside and outside the arena.
Event Merchandise: 2018 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game event merchandise will be available at multiple merchandise stands during the official welcome party, pregame party and during the game on the concourse. UND will be wearing special pregame warm-up jerseys on Saturday night, these jerseys will be available for purchase immediately after warm-ups are over at the concourse merchandise booth. The booth will also feature an event specific puck that will be used during pregame warm-ups and then made available for sale.
Game Entertainment Announcements: The 2018 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game is proud to announce that the following individuals and groups have been secured for the event: National Anthem singer is Mark J. Lindquist; Public Address Announcer is Darrin Looker; Music person / DJ for the game is Jake Wagner, Music Director for Las Vegas’ hometown hockey team; and Las Vegas’ hometown hockey team “Ice Crew” presented by the Cosmopolitan.
TV and Radio Coverage: Fans who are unable to attend the 2018 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game will still be able to get full coverage of the event through a television broadcast produced by Midco Sports Network or by listening to Tim Hennessey do the play-by-play on the Home of Economy UND Sports Radio Network. Fans that have a subscription through NCHC.TV will also be able to view the webcast.
