Northern Italy’s Wines Shine at Ferraro’s April Taste & Learn Event

FERRARO’S WILL SPOTLIGHT VERDANT VENETO REGION’S WINES AT NEXT
TASTE & LEARN

Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar’s next Taste & Learn will take place on Saturday, April 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. and will spotlight wines from Italy’s green and pastoral Veneto region, located in the country’s northeast. Each month, Taste & Learn offers food and wine lovers a chance to learn about some of Italy’s best wines, which are paired with small plates prepared by Executive Chef Francesco DiCaudo. This educational epicurean experience represents one of Las Vegas’ most informative—and enjoyable—food and wine-tasting opportunities.

Famous for romantic storied destinations such as Venice and Verona, the Veneto also represents one of Italy’s most productive and inspired wine-producing regions. While it produces more reds than whites, it is most well-known for its D.O.C.-rated white Soaves and sparkling Proseccos. At this Taste & Learn, Ferraro’s will introduce guests to some of the Veneto’s more surprising and highly rated reds, as well as excellent white and sparkling varieties.

The evening’s menu will include:

First Selection – Disperato Bianco, Buglioni, 2013
Seppia del Doge – Slow cooked Venetian squid, served chilled with peas and potato

Second Selection – Rosso del Veronese, Campofiorin, Masi, 2011
Risotto al Taleggio – Traditional radicchio risotto, pear and Taleggio cheese fondue

Third Selection – Amarone, La Marega, Le Salette, 2010
Cervo – Seared venison loin, celery root purée, chocolate tortello and lentils

Fourth Selection – Recioto, Buglioni, 2008
Ferraro’s Famous Tiramisu – Coffee, Mascarpone, Savoiardi

Under the direction of Gino Ferraro, Ferraro’s wine selection places special emphasis on presenting a broad and deep range of Italian wines, such as Barolo from Bartolo Mascarello, Bruno Giacosa and Giacomo Conterno; Barbaresco from Marchese dei Gresy and Produttori del Barbaresco; Brunello from Biondi Santi; Amarone from Bertani and Montepulciano d’Abruzzo from Emidio Pepe. Ferraro’s has been recognized with Wine Spectator’s “Best of Award of Excellence” and the Wine Enthusiast award.

Space for this intimate event is limited and tickets (tax and tip included) are $65 per person. To make reservations, call (702) 364-5300.
