Ninth Annual ‘Fashion for Three Square’ Transforms Food Bank and Fight Against Childhood Hunger

Three Square Food Bank hosted event to benefit children in need

On Saturday, May 7, “Fashion for Three Square,” a special event underwritten by the Three Square Food Bank transformed Three Square’s north campus – which ordinarily houses operations, volunteering, food rescue, warehousing and distribution – into a majestic party venue. Complete with elegant décor, fashion models, entertainment and local culinary tastes, the gathering’s attendees came together to support the Bag Childhood Hunger campaign.

The event featured fashions by Libertine, presented by Neiman Marcus, along with food provided by top Las Vegas restaurants – including Blue Ribbon Sushi, Din Tai Fung, Graze Kitchen, Giada, Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar and STK – and beverages by Johnson Brothers. One of Three Square’s storage coolers was converted into an ice bar, featuring caviar from Artisanal Foods and Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails. Westgate Las Vegas provided an array of sweet treats. The event also welcomed entertainment from the Shaun DeGraff Band.

Contributions made to Three Square’s Bag Childhood Hunger Campaign, which continues through May 31, will be used right here in Southern Nevada and can have double the impact thanks to generous matching sponsors Nevada Gold Mines operated by Barrick and NV Energy Foundation.

The Bag Childhood Hunger campaign supports Three Square’s childhood nutrition programs, including Kids Cafe®, BackPack for Kids and Meet Up and Eat Up. These programs ensure that the valley’s more than 131,000 food-insecure children receive wholesome, nutritious meals after school, over the weekends and during the summer months.

About Three Square Food Bank
Three Square is Southern Nevada’s only food bank and largest hunger relief organization, serving Las Vegas and all of Clark, Lincoln, Esmeralda and Nye counties. Since opening in 2007, Three Square has provided more than 444 million pounds of food to hundreds of thousands of people in need and earned a reputation as one of the most efficient and effective food banks in the country. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, Three Square immediately implemented a disaster response plan to answer sudden school and business closures, drastic declines in retail food donations, social distancing limitations on volunteer efforts, reduced on-site staff support, and the need for low-contact food distributions. Within days, Three Square had increased food distribution by 250,000 meals a week and increased the capacity of its Call Center to refer Southern Nevadans to available food resources, social services, and unemployment benefits. A member of the Feeding America network of food banks, Three Square remains committed to its mission of providing wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community.
