MURRELL JOINS REBEL STAFF AS VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT
He brings six years of professional soccer experience to UNLV
UNLV women’s soccer head coach Jenny Ruiz-Williams announced the hiring of Jordan Murrell as a volunteer assistant coach Tuesday.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have Jordan on our staff,” said Ruiz-Williams. “He brings contagious energy, knowledge and excitement that have already immediately impacted our student-athletes. Having him on board really completes our Rebel family.”
Murrell comes to the Rebel program after playing six years professionally in the USL Championship (USLC) and the Canadian Premier League (CPL). A third-round selection (57th overall – Real Salt Lake) in the 2015 MLS Superdraft, he spent his career with four USLC teams – the most recent of which was Las Vegas Lights FC in 2020 – along with CPL club Valour FC (2019). Originally from London, England, Murell holds citizenship in Canada and notched 10 international caps with the Canadian National Team at the U18, U20 and U23 levels.
“I’m very excited to join the UNLV women’s soccer coaching staff. I look forward to working with Jenny, the whole staff and the team to get better every day and help bring us one step closer to winning championships,” said Murrell.
Additionally, Murrell played four years of collegiate soccer at Syracuse, where he remains tied for fourth on the program’s all-time assists list (20). He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in economics from SU in 2014.
