MGM Resorts International, Nevada Public Radio and
Three Square Food Bank Continue Partnership to
Provide Meals to Food Insecure Southern Nevadans
Through a partnership with MGM Resorts International (MGM Resorts) and Nevada Public Radio, Three Square Food Bank can distribute 90,000 additional meals to Southern Nevadans experiencing food insecurity.
During Nevada Public Radio’s 2024 Fall Membership Campaign in September, members had the option to donate meals to Three Square in lieu of receiving traditional thank you gifts when they made their pledge of support. Their generosity raised a value of nearly 61,000 meals for hungry neighbors in the community. Additionally, MGM Resorts went above and beyond, graciously covering the value and donating even more to create 90,000 meals through this initiative. Three Square is Southern Nevada’s only food bank, providing food assistance to the residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark counties.
“Feeding our food insecure neighbors is a huge priority in our approach to investing in our communities,” said Maria Gatti, Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Engagement at MGM Resorts. “We are grateful for the partnerships and collaboration that help feed even more people in our community. On behalf of MGM Resorts, thank you to the listeners for these amazing results.”
“Our partnership with Three Square Food Bank and MGM Resorts International is a testament to the power of our community when we collaborate. Our team at Nevada Public Radio works daily to keep our listeners informed, and through efforts like this, we’re also able to do our part in helping food- insecure members in our community,” said Favian Perez, CEO of Nevada Public Radio. “There’s an amplifying effect that happens when we collaborate. The end result is a more resilient community. We’re thankful to the partners and listeners that make it all possible.”
“Once again, this partnership has proven to be a successful approach to assist Three Square with its mission to help feed our hungry neighbors, while also reminding Southern Nevadans that food insecurity is very real in our community,” said Michelle Beck, Chief Development Officer of Three Square Food Bank. “On behalf of Three Square and our hundreds of agency partners, we extend a hearty thank you to MGM Resorts International and Nevada Public Radio for this annual collaboration During Hunger Action Month.”
Feeding America’s 2024 Map the Meal Gap study revealed that there are 341,480 community members, or one in seven, struggling with hunger and one in five children lives in a food-insecure household.
