Or visit your local Albertsons Sav-on Pharmacy between Wednesday, May 2 and Saturday, May 12 to purchase a pre-packaged bag of non-perishable food. Shoppers can also donate $1, $5 or $10 at the register. A “stamp” will be hung in honor of each donation.

Donation “stamps” supporting the 2012 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive can also be found at any Goodwill of Southern Nevada retail store from May 2 to May 12.

Last year in Southern Nevada this collaborative effort raised nearly 200 tons of food that was distributed to more than twenty local food pantries to help those in our community who struggle with hunger.

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is the nation’s largest single-day food drive, with letter carriers across the country picking up donations. In 2011, Americans generously donated more than 70 million pounds of food as part of this food drive. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the national food drive, and the 22nd year the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has occurred in Southern Nevada.
