LINDY LA ROCQUE NAMED TO THE 2025 KATHY DELANEY-SMITH PRESEASON WATCH LIST
La Rocque is one of 20 coaches on the preseason list and the only Mountain West coach
UNLV Head Women’s Basketball Coach Lindy La Rocque has been named to the 2025 Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year preseason watch list presented by Her Hoop Stats, the organization announced Wednesday morning. This is the second season of the award, named after the legendary former Harvard head coach. The preseason list includes coaches from 14 conferences. La Rocque was one of five finalists for last season’s inaugural Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year award.
La Rocque, who begins her fifth season at the helm of the Lady Rebels’ program, has the third highest win percentage with a .823, among coaches who have spent five seasons or less with their respective teams. She became the first head coach in program history to reach the 100-win mark in just four seasons. La Rocque led the Lady Rebels to their second consecutive season with 30 or more wins for the first time in UNLV history. She also guided UNLV to its third straight Mountain West regular season and tournament titles for the first time in conference history.
La Rocque and the Lady Rebels will play an exhibition contest in Cox Pavilion on Tuesday, Oct. 29 hosting Point Loma, before opening the 2024-25 campaign on Monday, Nov. 4 when LMU comes to Las Vegas.
