Fans invited to enjoy three weekends of local music and nightly giveaways at The Space
Life is Beautiful has announced the launch of the Rising Stars competition hosted at The Space, which will see one talented local performer or band land themselves a spot on the music and arts festival’s 2023 lineup alongside The Killers, Kendrick Lamar, Odesza, KHALID, The 1975, FLUME, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Omar Apollo, Kim Petras, and many more. Submissions to perform are now open HERE.
“Providing a platform to be seen and heard has been one of our biggest missions since introducing Rising Stars in 2021,” said Craig Nyman, Director of Music, Programming & Development at Life is Beautiful. “Partnering with The Space to bring 16 artists from our state to their stage is a really exciting opportunity as we gear up for this year’s festival.”
To enter the competition, Las Vegas musicians must visit lfe.is/risingstars and submit their entry by Wednesday, June 14 at 11:59 pm PT. 16 semi-finalists will be chosen to appear at the multi-genre live competition, hosted by The Space on August 4-5 and 11-12. A group of esteemed judges will hand-select four performers or bands to advance to the final round on August 18. Additionally, The Space will offer all semi-finalists an opportunity to return to the popular venue for a follow-up performance in the fall.
“The Space exists to provide a home for our local music scene, and having the opportunity to partner with Life is Beautiful is a way to move this mission forward,” said Mark Shunock, local entertainer, philanthropist, and Founder of The Space. “The festival has become one of the city’s premiere events, and everyone at The Space is thrilled to be a part of it. Who wouldn’t want the chance to perform at Life is Beautiful?!”
With music and fans at the forefront, Life is Beautiful introduced the festival’s Rising Stars program at the 2021 festival with the mission to showcase emerging musicians and provide a platform to be discovered. The newest iteration of this program will partner with Shunock and his venue to celebrate the power of supporting local creators by giving them the opportunity to perform at a venue that specializes in providing a platform for homegrown artists.
“Mark and his team have always been committed to giving back to the community,” said Nyman. “Opening The Space for this program is only the beginning, and we look forward to building the Rising Stars platform for even more Nevada-based musicians moving forward.”
Additional programming and event details will be announced soon. For more information on Life is Beautiful, visit www.lifeisbeautiful.com or follow along on social media on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
