Visitors seeking the best place to bid farewell to 2016 and embrace the New Year need to look no farther than Las Vegas. The Strip boasts some of the greatest fireworks, entertainment, DJs, restaurants, parties and activities for all travelers.
FIREWORKS
Keeping with Las Vegas’ New Year’s tradition, Las Vegas Blvd. will close to automobile traffic and allow revelers and thousands of their newest friends to celebrate 2017 on the sidewalks and on the boulevard in one of the largest parties in the U.S. This massive celebration culminates in the world-famous America’s Party fireworks display. Seven resorts, including ARIA Resort & Casino, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Stratosphere Casino Hotel & Tower, Treasure Island and The Venetian Las Vegas, will be launching a dazzling display of fireworks from the rooftops along the Strip.
America’s Party – Downtown takes place at Fremont Street Experience with fireworks, entertainment and a year-in-review retrospective on the Viva Vision screen. The renowned five-block entertainment district located in historic downtown Las Vegas features continuous entertainment on three stages and a countdown to midnight.
Sundance Helicopters will grant visitors a breathtaking view of the world-famous Strip fireworks with their Fireworks Spectacular Tour. As the only helicopter company offering flights during the countdown to 2017, passengers can experience fireworks from a whole new vantage point – at eye level.
The High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel, at The LINQ Promenade offers a 360-degree view, 550 feet above Las Vegas, making it one of the destination’s best fireworks viewing locations. Visitors can purchase VIP cabins and other packages to have outstanding views of America’s Party.
Other phenomenal viewing locations along the Strip include The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ The Ice Rink at Boulevard Pool with ice skating and DJ on Dec. 31, Beer Park at Paris Las Vegas, The Stratosphere Las Vegas, SkyFall Lounge at Delano Las Vegas, Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay, the Las Vegas Monorail’s Third Rail Lounge and many others.

Bruno Mars will begin his recently announced exclusive extended engagement at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino on Dec. 30 and 31 at Park Theater, the newest live entertainment venue on the Strip. Located next door at T-Mobile Arena, Amanda Nunes and Ronda Rousey will face off at UFC 207 on Dec. 30.
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas welcomes two Grammy award winning performers, The Weeknd (Dec. 30) and Sting (Dec. 31), for an unforgettable performance at The Chelsea.
Country superstar Luke Bryan will perform his many hits for fans at MGM Grand Las Vegas on Dec. 30.
Returning for its fifth consecutive New Year’s Eve performance, pop-group Maroon 5 will take the stage at Mandalay Bay Events Center on Dec. 31, while Ron White will perform a two-night special at The Mirage Hotel & Casino on Dec. 29 and 30.
Multi-platinum-selling artist, four-time Grammy Award winner and music icon, Lionel Richie, takes the stage for his exclusive headlining residency at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Dec. 27, 29 and 30. On Dec. 31, legendary rap group Wu-Tang Clan will ring in 2017 with RZA, GZA, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, U-God, Masta Killa, Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna.
The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will host Elton John and his critically-acclaimed production “The Million Dollar Piano” from Dec. 28 – Jan. 1.
For visitors seeking something different and fun, Brooklyn Bowl hosts George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, who will perform their signature funk sound for crowds.
NIGHTLIFE
ARIA Resort & Casino’s newest nightlife destination, JEWEL Nightclub, will celebrate its inaugural New Year’s Eve party with Grammy Award-winner Steve Aoki in a night filled with glamour and entertainment on Dec. 31.
OMNIA Nightclub inside Caesars Palace will welcome world-class DJs to the multi-level ultra-lounge, club and balcony showcasing panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip for revelers to ring in the year. Kaskade will make his debut on Dec. 30, while Calvin Harris takes the DJ booth on Dec. 31.
Marquee Nightclub and Marquee Dayclub Dome at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will host a weekend of celebrations. The party begins with Benny Benassi at Marquee Nightclub on Dec. 30, followed by DJ-trio Cash Cash at Marquee Dayclub Dome on Dec. 31. Those ambitious revelers can continue the celebrations on Jan. 1 at the Dome Party with DJ Dash Berlin spinning during the day and concluding with DJ Khaled continuing the party well into the night hours.
Revelers have a plethora of options to ring in the New Year at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. XS will host Diplo-led hitmakers Major Lazer while Intrigue will host DJ Chuckie and his unique “dirty” house sound and Grammy-nominated DJ/producer Snake will take the DJ booth at Surrender.
Drai’s Nightclub atop The Cromwell boasts phenomenal views of Las Vegas Blvd., featuring top-tier DJs. The nightclub will celebrate with Kid Cudi on Dec. 30 and Grammy Award-winning rap superstar Kendrick Lamar counting down to 2017 on Dec. 31.
Hakkasan Nightclub inside MGM Grand Las Vegas will conclude 2016 with Grammy Award- winning artist Drake on Dec. 31. Guests are encouraged to don a sequin-filled ensemble to party the year away surrounded with confetti-filled revelry and champagne.
At The Venetian Las Vegas, New Year’s Eve festivities will begin on Dec. 29 as Ty Dolla $ign plays a special performance, followed by Jermaine Dupri on Dec. 30, for club-goers at TAO Nightclub. French Montana and DJ Khaled will join forces to celebrate the arrival of 2017 at TAO Nightclub on Dec. 31 while T-Pain will take over LAVO at The Palazzo Las Vegas on Dec. 31 where he will countdown to midnight with a special performance.
Lil Jon and fans will pop bottles and toast to the New Year at 1 Oak Nightclub inside The Mirage Hotel & Casino.
Overlooking the famed Fountains of Bellagio at Bellagio Resort & Casino, Hyde Bellagio will welcome the New Year with DJ D Miles and a black tie masquerade-themed party complete with fireworks over the fountains on Dec. 31. The Bank Nightclub also at Bellagio celebrates with DJ CLA on Dec. 31.
