LAS VEGAS PLAYWRIGHT EDWARD D PADILLA’S “FALLEN GUARDIAN ANGELS” PRODUCTION

BENEFITS GOLDEN RAINBOW IN HONOR OF WORLD AIDS DAY, DEC. 1 – 3

Admission is complimentary, donations are encouraged

In honor of World AIDS Day, “Fallen Guardian Angels,” by Las Vegas playwright Edward D Padilla, will be performed as a benefit for Golden Rainbow beginning Thursday, Dec. 1 through Saturday, Dec. 3 at the West Charleston Library (6301 W. Charleston).

“Fallen Guardian Angels” was voted as “The Official Script of World AIDS Day” by the W.H.O. in Amsterdam in summer 2011. The production is currently being considered for inclusion in the “International AIDS Archives” as a dramatic historical emotional document and is nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. More than 2,000 theater companies, schools and organizations around the world plan on presenting renditions of “Fallen Guardian Angels” for World AIDS Day, Thursday, Dec. 1, and the 30th anniversary of the first recorded case of AIDS.

Firmly rooted in 1985, the play takes patrons back through the emotional roller coaster of misinformation, judgments and unwarranted fear of the time. “Fallen Guardian Angels” has dramatic, tear-filled moments as well as humorous breaks. It is a non-linear rhythmic piece with shades of “For Colored Girls…,” “Spoon River Anthology” and “A Chorus Line.”

Padilla will be in attendance at the event, selling and signing copies of the script with all proceeds going to Golden Rainbow. Doors open at 7:05 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is complimentary, but donations are encouraged. For more information, please visit www.goldenrainbow.org.
