LANDAU LIGHTS UP LAS VEGAS
~New Album Release Party Concert Was A Saturday Night Sellout~
Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., the Sinatra-and-Souil singing season six winner of NBC TV’s “America’s Got Talent,” debuted his new album of all-original material, “I’m Not Messing Around,” for a sold-out audience at Myron’s, the world-famous jazz cabaret inside the Smith Center, Saturday night, August 24th.
Backed by an A-list band of top studio and live performance musicians who also performed on his album, Landau crooned his way effortlessly through all 12 cuts from his album and treated audience members to a special mini-set of Sinatra classics.
“I’m Not Messing Around” was produced by music veteran Rob Hegel, who wrote or co-wrote the album’s tracks with Landau. Hegel is a veteran songwriter who has written hits for Air Supply, LaBelle’s Sarah Dash, and numerous TV shows and film soundtracks.
Landau shares that he’s always ‘wanted to make an album like this since winning AGT’. He emphasizes that all the songs are inspired by classics from the Great American Songbook, but with a unique twist. They are performed with the same swagger and style as music icons like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Nat’ King’ Cole, but with Landau’s unmistakable touch, creating a blend that is sure to intrigue music enthusiasts.
Concert highlights included the show’s opening up-tempo“ By The Way,” heart-felt future crooner classics “Say You Love Me” and “Honey, I Would Stay With You,” the Sinatra-inspired “Beyond The Stars,” the title track “I’m Not Messing Around” and show closer, the autobiographical “Call Me A Joker,” which earned Landau a standing ovation to wrap up the evening.
