LADY REBELS HOST WBIT FIRST ROUND AGAINST HAWAII
UNLV will play Thursday at home against Hawai’i in the first round of the WBIT at 6:30 PM
The UNLV women’s basketball team has accepted a bid to the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament and will host the first round game against Hawai’i on Thursday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m. PT. The matchup, which will be held at Cox Pavilion, will be televised on ESPN+.
The Lady Rebels are the No. 2 seed in the WBIT after winning the Mountain West regular-season title for the fourth consecutive year. UNLV fell in the Mountain West Tournament semifinals to San Diego State, 71-59, on Tuesday. The Scarlet & Gray head into the WBIT with a 25-7 overall record, which marked the fourth straight 20+ win season.
The Rainbow Wahine, who are unseeded in the 32-team field, have a 22-9 overall record and just fell in the Big West Championship Semifinals to UC San Diego, 51-49, on Friday.
This marks the fourth consecutive postseason play for the Lady Rebels under head coach Lindy La Rocque. UNLV is 35-15 all-time against Hawai’i, which includes the last meeting between the two programs, which happened on Dec. 11, 2022 in Hawai’i when the Lady Rebels defeated the Rainbow Wahine 76-66.
The winner of Hawaii at UNLV game will face the winner of No. 3 seed Florida and UNI in the second round, which will be held at a location to be determined following the game.
