LADY REBELS HOST FRESNO STATE THURSDAY AT 5 PM

UNLV puts 13-game winning streak on the line against the Bulldogs

UNLV women’s basketball could add a trophy to its case by the end of the week.

The Lady Rebels will finish the regular season with four of their final six games at home. UNLV can put away their second-straight Mountain West regular-season championship before the final buzzer.

The Lady Rebels host Fresno State at the Cox Pavilion at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, with a four-game lead over second place in the standings. UNLV needs just two wins to take a share of the 2023 title and three wins clinches an outright share.

On Saturday, UNLV will travel to Boise State for a 1 p.m. PT matchup at the ExtraMile Arena.

UNLV has won five straight against Fresno State and has not lost during head coach Lindy La Rocque’s tenure. UNLV is 23-21 all-time versus Fresno State.

Young a Mid-Major Player of the Year Semifinalist

UNLV junior center Desi-Rae Young was named one of 10 semifinalists for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award presented by Her Hoop Stats.

Young, the 2022 Mountain West Player of the Year, leads the Lady Rebels with 17.8 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game. Her 14 double-doubles are the sixth most by a Division I player this season.

The Las Vegas native leads the Mountain West in points per minute, rebounding and field goal percentage. She is one of just four Division I players averaging 17 points, 10 rebounds and two assists.

We’re Going Streaking

UNLV’s 13-game winning streak is its longest since 1992-93 when it won 18 in a row. The program’s longest winning streak is 22 games (1978-79, 1989-90).

Viva Las Vegas

UNLV’s home winning streak is 17 games (as of Feb. 7). It’s the third longest active DI home-winning streak.
