The UNLV Lady Rebels and in-state rival UNR face off for the first time this season Wednesday night, as the two will tip off at 6:30 pm in Reno in the first of two regular season games in the Silver State Series, the all-sports competition between the two schools sponsored by IBEW and Nevada Donor Network.
There will be a live video stream of the contest on the MW Network, while the radio broadcast will feature the call of Wyatt Tomchek and Mark Wasik. Both the video stream and the radio broadcast can be accessed at UNLVRebels.com.
UNLV Game Notes ♦ A year ago, the Wolf Pack won the game in Reno in the last week of the regular season, and then stunned UNLV in the MW Quarterfinals in a 77-73 double-overtime win, the first-ever loss by the Lady Rebels in Las Vegas in the all-time series. ♦ While UNR has won two straight against UNLV, the Lady Rebels have historically dominated the series with a 35-10 all-time record against their in-state rival. That includes a 16-8 record in Reno. ♦ After opening the MW season with back-to-back road games, both losses, the Lady Rebels have rebounded to win four of their last five games. All four wins were by at least nine points as well. ♦ UNLV has been showing marked improvement on defense in conference action, holding five of its past seven opponents to under 58 points. ♦ UNR has yet to win a conference game at home this season, though two losses were by a combined three points (New Mexico and Boise State).
