Saturday’s matchup between UNLV and San Diego State will mark the end of the first half of the Mountain West schedule for the Lady Rebels, as they bring a 6-2 conference record into Viejas Arena for the 1 pm contest.
There will be a live video stream available on the Mountain West Network, with the link also available on UNLVRebels.com. Wyatt Tomchek (play-by-play) and Mark Wasik (color analyst) will handle the radio broadcast, also on UNLVRebels.com.
UNLV Game Notes
♦ After being picked seventh in the preseason poll, UNLV is one of the two surprises of the conference season thus far, especially after a 3-8 start to the season. The Lady Rebels have won seven of their past eight games, and are currently tied third in the MW along with Boise State.
♦ SDSU meanwhile was picked fifth in the preseason poll but stand seventh with a 3-6 mark after its first nine games.
♦ UNLV has won five straight against the Aztecs, including the past two seasons in San Diego, both by double-digit margins.
♦ The Lady Rebels currently rank in the top-two of the MW in almost every defensive category, including scoring defense, field goal defense and rebound margin and three-point field goal defense, where UNLV is fifth in the nation at 23.7%.
♦ The 2019-20 UNLV Lady Rebel squad are one of the youngest and least experienced teams in the Mountain West this season after graduating four senior starters. UNLV has 10 underclassmen on this year’s squad, with seven freshmen and three sophomores, while the four-member senior class had a total of two career starts (as a Lady Rebel) entering the season.
