LA COMIDA TO HOST CELEBRATORY WEEKEND
IN HONOR OF MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY

The new La Comida in Downtown Las Vegas will celebrate Mexican Independence Day with a two-day fiesta on Saturday, Sept. 14 and Monday, Sept. 16.

The festive, indoor-outdoor party will continue into the evening with entertainment by Mariachi Mexico, one of Las Vegas’ top mariachi. Drink specials will be served all day Saturday and Monday, and will include $5 Cazadores Margaritas, $15 El Jimador Tequila Flights complete with sangrita made with fresh tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce and lime and the traditional Mexican Tequila Bandera which is made to resemble the Mexican Flag and is comprised of three shots: lime juice, tequila blanco and sangrita.

About La Comida:
La Comida has ignited the burgeoning Downtown Las Vegas dining scene with a menu inspired by the cosmopolitan fare of Mexico City. The latest creation by the Morton Group, led by restaurateurs Jenna and Michael Morton, La Comida blends authenticity and tradition with a delightfully funky vibe. The front of the restaurant faces Sixth Street with an old-school overhanging ‘La Comida’ sign stretching across the sidewalk beneath a 7-foot sculptured metal monkey clinging to the rooftop corner, whose bones flash in pink neon. The main room is accented with wood floors, reclaimed tiles from Mexico, authentic church pews and stained glass from old church windows.

La Comida is located at 100 Sixth St. and is open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. More information is available at Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. For reservations please call 702.463.9900.
