L.A. Comedy Club at The STRAT Brings a Packed Comedy Lineup This September to Fill the Month With Lots of Laughs
Touring comics Jay Reid, Edwin San Juan, Erik Knowles, Brandt Tobler and Jimmy Earll will take the Dragon Room stage in September, joining the award-winning club’s regular lineup
L.A. Comedy Club has announced a hilarious September lineup for the club’s custom new Dragon Room showroom at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower. Jay Reid, Edwin San Juan, Erik Knowles and Brandt Tobler , whose combined credits span ESPN, FOX, BET, Comedy Central, Showtime and more, will headline the club’s 8 p.m. shows. Jimmy Earll will host a one-night-only comedy show at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29. Tickets are available for purchase here.
The club’s lineup of popular resident comics also includes the nightly Happy Hour Variety Show starring Julio Gonzalez at 6 p.m.; comedian Butch Bradley at 10 p.m. Thursday through Monday; and comedian Bret Ernst at 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The L.A. Comedy Club, dubbed “The younger rebel brother of Improv” by Casino Player Magazine, has been entertaining Las Vegas locals and visitors since 2007. Julio Gonzalez, a relative newcomer to the Vegas comedy scene, is known nationwide for his storytelling comedic style using experiences from his life such as weight loss, relationships, society, women and living life to the fullest. Along with his standup career, Gonzalez is known for helping others through his various charity shows and is committed to being the change he wants to see in the world.

Comedic veteran, Butch Bradley, grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey and started his comedy career by becoming a founding member of the Boston Improv Troupe. Bradley has been the opening act for comedic legends like Ray Romano, Lewis Black and Cathy Ladman and has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, has been a regular on “The Late Late Show” and toured festivals such as the “Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival,” the “Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival” and made an appearance as a USO Entertainer. Bradley has received the gold award for “Best Comedian” for three consecutive years by the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s “Best of Las Vegas” awards. Bradley’s comedy special, “Butch Bradley: From Las Vegas” is currently available on Amazon Prime. He can also be seen on the big screen in the upcoming film “Reagan” starring Dennis Quaid.
- 10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday: Bret Ernst
Bret Ernst, born and raised in New Jersey, was one of four comedians featured in “Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days and 30 Nights—Hollywood to the Heartland,” has appeared on television shows like “Comedy Central Presents,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Weeds” and has a recurring role on Netflix’s hit series, “Cobra Kai.” Ernst’s jokes are rooted in storytelling, giving the audience an inside look at the life of a typical North Jersey Italian kid in the 1980s.

Edwin San Juan is known for sharing his multicultural life experiences, his observational humor and hilarious word play. Making his first film debut alongside co-star Felipe Esparza and Paul Rodriguez in “I’m Not Like That No More” in 2010, San Juan has entertained American troops on the USO tour “Around the World in Eight Days” and made various television appearances including Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” Showtime’s “Comics without Borders” and “The Payaso Comedy Slam,” BET’s “Comic View” and many others. Voted “Best Comedian on the Las Vegas Strip,” by Las Vegas Weekly, San Juan is also the creator and executive producer of “SlantED Comedy,” a showcase of Asian American stand-up comedians available on Showtime.

Jay Reid is a stand-up comedian and Las Vegas native, who started performing at small clubs when he was 19. Reid’s first big break came when he was chosen to be a contestant on BET’s “Coming to the Stage” comedy competition. After appearing on the show, Reid started booking performances at notable comedy clubs such as the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. After winning comedian Bill Bellamy’s “Who’s Got Jokes?,” he toured alongside Bellamy as well as being in Showtime’s “Ladies Night Out Comedy Special.”
- Monday, Sept. 18 through Sunday, Sept. 24: Erik Knowles with special guests
Erik Knowles, a Texas native and former U.S. Marine, honed his comedic craft in San Diego where he climbed to the top ranks of the city’s extensive comedy scene over the course of 11 years. In his live shows and popular comedy albums, Knowles shares his experiences with parenthood, medicinal marijuana and the dangers of technology as well as his light-hearted views on politics. He has appeared on “Tonight” in San Diego, “Laughs” on Fox and “Man-up Stand-up” on Hulu, among others. His achievements include the “Veteran Achievement Award” at the San Diego Comedy Festival, “Best Comedian Award” at the Veteran’s Choice Awards and first place in 2016’s The World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas.
- Monday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Oct. 1: Brandt Tobler with special guests
Brandt Tobler, native to Cheyenne, Wyoming, is a stand-up comedian, author and actor. Tobler is a regular on numerous comedy podcasts, including “Bertcast,” “Crabfeast,” “Your Mom’s House,” “Mohr Sports,” “The Dana Gould Hour,” Ari Shaffir’s “Skeptic Tank” and is currently the host of the award-winning podcast “The 31.” He has also been featured on Comedy Central, Fox and ESPN as well as toured overseas to perform for American troops. His two comedy albums “Token White Boy” and “Ramblin’ and Gamblin’” both reached No. 1 on the iTunes and Amazon charts the week they were released. Tobler was a finalist in Barstool Sports’ “Barstool Idol” contest and was named the “Best-Undiscovered Comedian from Wyoming” by Thrillist in 2018.

The World Series of Comedy will host an early show and takeover Julio Gonzalez’s 6 p.m. Happy Hour Variety Show at L.A. Comedy Club for the week. A midnight show will also be added during the week as well. As North America’s largest touring standup comedy festival, the series’ year-end finals will be held at the award-winning Las Vegas comedy club inside The STRAT. 101 hilarious comedians will compete over four rounds to determine the 2023 Champion of The Main Event. With each performance showcasing different comedians, every evening presents a fresh opportunity for uproarious entertainment.

Jimmy Earll, a Filipino American comedian who grew up in California, has toured with Carlos Mencia, Kevin Pollack, Damon Wayans Jr. and many others across more than 60 comedy clubs. Known for showcasing that everyone’s background has room for comedy, he has assembled a hilarious cast of comics that will take the mic for an evening of multicultural laughs. Headliners, touring comedians and up-and-coming locals will bring out their finest material for this raucous showcase, which highlights both diversity and satire.
