Kids Go Free at BIG3 Championship Final at
MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, August 26

Thanks to Former NBA star and current BIG3 3 Headed Monsters Captain Rashard Lewis, kids under the age of 13 will be able to attend this summer’s BIG3 games, including the Championship Final at MGM Grand Garden Arena, for free. Fueled by a desire to provide opportunities for parents, children and families to spend more quality time together, Lewis will buy a ticket for each child accompanied by a guest who has purchased a full-priced ticket.

Guests may take advantage of Lewis’ offer by purchasing tickets at MGM Grand box offices (complimentary tickets for kids are not available online). Tickets start at $27.50 (not including applicable service fees). Guests may receive one complimentary child ticket for every adult ticket purchased. Tickets are subject to availability. Previously purchased tickets will not be discounted.

In purchasing a ticket for every child, Lewis hopes to help parents provide a memorable experience for their families at BIG3 games by offering them something he never had the chance to do as a child – watch a professional basketball game in person.

“I wanted to do something special, not only for kids but for the amazing role models who are guiding them, so for every paying adult who takes a child 13 or younger to a BIG3 game this summer, I’ll buy the child’s ticket,” said Lewis. “A lot of kids don’t grow up with two parents in the home, but they still have amazing role models in their life working hard to steer them in the right direction. I want to help those role models afford to spend more quality time with kids. I hope being able to bring kids to BIG3 games for free this summer will help create positive ripple effects throughout our communities.”

In a moving op-ed published by HuffPost entitled ‘Why I’m Back,’ Lewis recalls the first NBA game he attended was when he was playing in the league – as his family couldn’t afford it. Lewis explains how playing and watching sports with his brothers, grandmother, mother and uncle played a crucial role in developing family bonds and keeping him out of trouble as a kid.

“My biggest role model is my mom. She was the one there at every game, picking me up, dropping me off. She was like my mom and my coach. I’ll never forget the sacrifices she made to provide for us and keep us happy. And I will never forget how my uncle was always there for us, too,” said Lewis. “You need quality time with someone you can look up to – whether it’s the mom, the dad, an uncle or cousin, an older brother. Whoever it is. It’s family time. Quality family time that you can’t replace. That kid whose dad or mom takes him to a game – they’ll always remember that.”
