Billboard and dick clark productions announced today that global superstar Justin Bieber will perform a medley of his new single “Company” and his chart-topping hit “Sorry” on the “2016 Billboard Music Awards.” The show will broadcast LIVE from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 22 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00pm PT on ABC. For the first time in Billboard Music Awards history, viewers on the West Coast will watch the show live along with fellow fans on the East Coast. This year’s show, which will be hosted by hip-hop artist Ludacris and international music sensation Ciara, will showcase big performances, unexpected collaborations and much-discussed pop culture moments. Global superstar Bieber released his latest album Purpose, on November 13, 2015. Purpose opened at #1 in over 100 countries around the world, and has gone on to sell over 7 million copies globally in just five months. Purpose shattered global streaming records and has yielded three consecutive #1 singles in the US – “What Do You Mean,” “Sorry,” and “Love Yourself.” In late 2015, those three tracks landed at #1, #2 and #3 on the UK singles chart, surpassing a record previously held by The Beatles and making Bieber the first artist to ever accomplish such a feat. In February, Justin won his first Grammy: Best Dance Song for the Purpose track “Where Are You Now.” Justin Bieber was recently named the first artist to reach 10 Billion views on VEVO. In 2014, Justin was ranked by Twitter as the #1 most tweeted about musical artist of the year. He has released five number-one albums to-date and has starred in two films, Never Say Never (2011) and Believe (2013). In 2011, he was nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy. In 2013, Bieber received a Diamond award from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to recognize his single “Baby” as the best-selling digital song of all-time with over 9.3 million copies sold. That same year, he was also awarded a Teen Choice Award for “Choice Male Artist” and “Choice Single: Male Artist” for his song “Beauty and a Beat.”
