Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada Announces New Board Members

FIVE NEW MEMBERS JOIN JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Junior Achievement (JA) of Southern Nevada today announced its board of directors has appointed five new members this fiscal year.

– Sandi Milton, senior vice president of marketing communications and events, Nevada State Bank
– Nate Lloyd, vice president and deputy general counsel for labor and employment, MGM Resorts International
– Roy Dixon, district manager, Starbucks, U.S. retail/Las Vegas stores
– Laurie Johnson, certified public accountant, Johnson Advisors
– Garrett Toft, first vice president industrial and logistics, CBRE, Inc.

The Junior Achievement board of directors is responsible for providing executive counsel, fund development and supporting JA’s in-school programs, which focus on entrepreneurship, personal financial literacy and workforce readiness using experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and fulfill their true potential.

“We are thrilled to add these five remarkable individuals to our board or directors,” said Michelle Jackson, president, Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. “Their valuable expertise will help our organization continue to build better futures by teaching young people in our community how to be financially successful and aspire to greater things.”

About Sandi Milton
Sandi Milton, a versatile and detail-oriented marketing communications professional with expertise in communications, public relations, event marketing, digital communications and advertising. She is experienced in comprehensive marketing communications across myriad industries such as financial, legal, hospitality, government, accounting, entertainment and gaming. She has served as senior vice president marketing communications and events at Nevada State Bank since 2012 managing and producing annually over 85 events, tradeshows, event sponsorships and charitable community functions. Milton holds a bachelor’s degree of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing.

About Nate Lloyd
Nate Lloyd’s practice areas have included representation of a variety of clients, including gaming and hospitality industry clients, in labor and employment matters, employment litigation, commercial litigation, Employee Retirement Income Security Act and litigation concerning election laws. Lloyd joined MGM Resorts in 2009 as assistant general counsel for labor and employment. He has been serving as vice president and deputy general counsel labor and employment since 2012. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.

About Roy Dixon
Roy Dixon, a top producing operations leader with nearly 20 years of experience in sales leadership, operations leadership, business development, contract negotiations, partner development and partner relations. He serves as a resource providing expertise on key customer issues, team staffing and management, store operations and company policies and procedures for Starbucks U.S. Retail/Las Vegas stores. Dixon holds a Bachelor of Science-Sociology from Illinois State University – Normal Illinois.

About Laurie Johnson
Laurie Johnson, audit and assurance partner in consulting and accounting firm, Johnson Advisors  has strong skillset in creating a collaborative team environment within the firm, with clients and in various organizations through cultivating relationships among diverse individuals. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from UNLV.

About Garrett Toft
Garrett Toft is responsible for advisory and transaction services related to the industrial and logistics industry in Southern Nevada.He graduated from the University of Southern California, Cum Laude – Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance and Real Estate Development.
