The Downtown Summerlin® Eatery Will Feature Several Pairings from the Women Behind the Wine Initiative in their Weekly Wine Tasting Event
What: JING Las Vegas located at Downtown Summerlin® will be hosting a wine tasting event featuring a pair of selections from the Women Behind the Wine initiative. There are five wine selections to choose from, each featuring an outstanding woman that works in the food, wine, spirits, hospitality, or viticulture industry. Guests will be able to choose from a Sparkling Brut Rose from J Vineyards and Winery, featuring Winemaker Nicole Hitchcock, paired with Negi Toro Sushi – Fatty Tuna, Scallion, Japanese Shiso, Wasabi Kizami for $14, a Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay (guest’s choice) from Jayson by Pahlmeyer, featuring CEO Cleo Pahlmeyer, paired with Wagyu Tartar – Mishima Ranch Wagyu, Citrus Ponzu, Egg yolk, Black Tobiko for $12, a Allegrini Palazzo della Torre or Amarone, featuring CEO Marilisa Allegrini, paired with Braised Oyster Mushroom – Truffle & Soy-Mirin Glaze, Polenta, Vietnamese Herbs for $15, a Brancaia Ilatraia Super Tuscan, featuring Winemaker Barbara Widmer, paired with Sugo di Crostini – Braised Wagyu Ragu, Sourdough Bread Croistini Roasted Garlic for $13, or a Louis Martini Monte Rosso Cabernet Sauvignon, featuring Vineyard Manager Brenae Royal, paired with Creekstone Farms Steak Skewer – Sweet Bell Peppers, Black Pepper Sauce, Scallion for $17.

Women Behind the Wine is an initiative whose mission is to “Advance the careers and education of women in the food, wine, spirits, hospitality or viticulture industries”. They aim to achieve this mission by partnering with Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation, Ltd by providing $100,000 towards a scholarship program. Within this program, they fund a Master Sommelier candidate, a Master of Wine candidate, they support the tuition for a traditional academic path for someone interested in the field, and they offer open-ended regional grants that allow other applicants to pursue their dreams in the food, wine, spirits, hospitality, or viticulture industries.
