The UNLV men’s basketball program has received a signed commitment from Jaden Henley to join the Runnin’ Rebels for the 2024-25 season, head coach Kevin Kruger announced Monday.
Originally from Ontario, California, the 6-foot-7-inch, 200-pound guard will transfer to UNLV from DePaul, where he was a sophomore during the 2023-24 season. He played his freshman year at Minnesota.
“We are extremely excited for Jaden to be joining the Runnin’ Rebel family,” Kruger said. “He was a priority for us to bring into our program. Having coached against him two seasons ago and watching him since, it is evident that his experience, length and versatility on the perimeter are all things that will make him a great addition to our team.”
Henley, who will be a junior at UNLV this fall, played in each of DePaul’s 32 games this past season, making 23 starts including 20 in Big East Conference games. He ranked fourth on his team in scoring, averaging 8.6 points per game with 2.7 rebounds per game. He was also fourth on his team in assists (43), averaging 24.5 minutes played per contest. He tallied a career high in points with 19 at then-No. 7 Marquette on Feb. 21.
At Minnesota, Henley played in a total of 31 games during the 2022-23 season and made 18 starts. He averaged 20.8 minutes per game and averaged 5.3 ppg, turning in a season high in scoring with 16 points against St. Francis Brooklyn. He appeared in 19 Big Ten Conference games, starting nine.
Henley attended Colony High School where he was the No. 3 overall prospect in his class in the state of California and the No. 2-ranked wing.
Henley joins Jeremiah “Bear” Cherry, James Evans and Pape N’Diaye (pronounced: POP EN-jie) as incoming players to the Runnin’ Rebel program for the 2024-25 season.
