General Admission, a hip sports lounge and restaurant out of Los Angeles, is now open at UnCommons, the vibrant new lifestyle, dining, office and residential campus development across from Durango Casino & Resort. Serving elevated cuisine, craft cocktails and draft beers, General Admission is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner starting at 8 a.m. daily.

 

 

“General Admission takes the sports lounge experience to the next level with phenomenal, chef-driven cuisine in a setting that offers a great vibe, indoors and out,” says Kamran Pourkazemi, partner at General Admission and echoed by business partners Tigran Nalbandyan and Matt Faulk. “Whether out for a drink, quick bite, date night, family time or to catch the game, there is something for everyone.”

Ensuring that every seat has a prime view of multiple HDTVs, General Admission boasts 37 large screens, including two on the patio, as well as a 163” LED screen behind the bar. The menu embraces classic sports bar staples with a modern, elevated twist. Made fresh daily is a variety of shareable plates including Tokyo street tots, made with crispy tater tots, Japanese style sauces, scallions, nori, togarashi and sesame seeds; mozzarella sticks, hand cut and breaded daily and served with San Marzano marinara and parmesan cheese; and Mediterranean hummus, a garlic hummus made fresh daily topped with crispy chickpeas and served with seasonal vegetables and fresh grilled pita bread; among others.

General Admission also includes offers fresh made-to-order sushi rolls, such as the Godzilla crunch roll, with spicy tuna, salmon and avocado topped with Serrano Chiles, wasabi and pickled ginger; a Southwest turkey burger served on a brioche bun with freshmade ground turkey patty, pepper jack cheese, arugula, fresh guacamole and a secret house made spicy aioli; steak frites, grilled 12-ounce Black Angus New York striploin topped with General Admission steak butter and roasted garlic confit and served with fresh cut french fries; spicy rigatoni pasta, with a housemade spicy vodka sauce, Italian sausage, fresh basil, parmesan cheese and garlic streusel topping; as well as a variety of street tacos and salads. The dessert menu showcases reimagined classics including chocolate molten cake, cookie a la mode and Oreo cheesecake.

 

The full-service bar features 24 beers on draft including three rotating locally-based drafts. The cocktail menu includes a selection of classics as well as a deep roster of hand-crafted signature drinks such as the Football Fizz, made with Aperol, Gambino sparkling wine, club soda and orange; Half Time, made with Patron Silver tequila, grapefruit juice, peach Schnapps and club soda; and Hail Mary, made with Zing Zang Blazing bloody mary mix and fresh lime; among others. The elevated sports bar also has a collection of 200 spirits available behind the bar, including select options for bottle service.

 

General Admission offers a weekday happy hour menu available from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Selections include $5 draft beers, well drinks, house wines and mimosas; Tokyo Tots, mozzarella sticks and hummus for $8 each; and jumbo chicken wings, chicken tenders and Irish nachos for $10 each.

 

Designed by HL Workroom and spanning nearly 5,000 square feet, General Admission features an open main dining room with seating for 160 guests as well as a 16-seat bar situated under LED color-changing lights shaped after basketballs. A mix of group tables, hightops and lounge-style seating is placed strategically throughout the space for a high-energy, social atmosphere with metal and chain fence accents to create a contemporary locker room feel. A state-of-the-art DJ turntable stand and VIP booth also sits above the floor to keep the hype going long after the last buzzer sounds. An outdoor patio, complete with heaters, provides almost 2,000 additional square feet and seats more than 60.

 

General Admission is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday. Happy Hour is from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday.  A weekend brunch runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
