The UNLV baseball team (5-9) fell short against the No. 7 Arkansas Razorbacks (14-2) by a score of 13-7 during game one of a two-game series Tuesday night at Baum-Walker Stadium.

REBEL OF THE GAME: Jacob Sharp went 3-for-4 at the plate with 2 RBIs, including a one-run double, and one run scored for the Rebels.

TURNING POINT: The game was tied 1-1 until the top of third inning when the Scarlet & Gray scored three runs on three hits, including a RBI double from Sharp. Arkansas answered back in the bottom of the fourth frame, scoring five runs on five hits with three singles, each bringing in a run, and a two-run single to pull ahead 7-4. UNLV was able to bring the game within two runs after scoring one run on two hits in the top of the sixth inning, but Arkansas increased its advantage after scoring four runs on four hits to end the sixth frame with a six-run lead.

Dylan Carter (3-0) earned his third win of the season after throwing 1.2 innings of relief and allowing only one hit with one strikeout.

Nick Rupp (1-3) was saddled with the loss after pitching two-thirds of an inning of relief and allowing five runs and four hits with two strikeouts.

UP NEXT: UNLV will conclude the two-game series against No. 7 Arkansas Wednesday, with first pitch slated for 1 p.m. (PT).
