Home + History Las Vegas Returns With Largest Heritage Tourism Event in Southern Nevada, April 27 – 30
Explore the glitz and glam of vintage Vegas culture, neighborhoods, architecture and iconic figures across over 20 tours
Home + History Las Vegas (HHLV) is returning this spring for its 8th annual cultural heritage and architecture tour from April 27-30, 2023. Known as the largest and longest-running heritage tourism event in Southern Nevada, the four-day event attracts locals and visitors to provide an authentic look at the historic architecture of Las Vegas through its unique stories, vintage neighborhoods, and the iconic figures that have made Las Vegas what it is today.
Guided by local historians who are passionate about keeping Las Vegas’ long-lived culture persevered, HHLV will host more than 20 tours spanning over four days that immerse excursionists through iconic sites and venues around Downtown Las Vegas through biking, walking or bus tours.
“Nevada Preservation Foundation is thrilled to be returning for another year with our Home and History heritage touring event that brings hundreds to the City of Las Vegas to explore our history and culture,” says Amy Raymer, Programming Committee Chair and Board Member. “Home + History provides authentic experiences that set out to highlight not only the stories and places that make Las Vegas an iconic destination, but also the need to preserve architecture and cultural resources for our locals and tourists that come from all over the world to enjoy our community.”
HHLV is offering three new tours this year including the Huntridge Neighborhood Tour showcasing Huntridge theater and the post-war neighborhood that surrounds it; Of Scotsmen and Mayors Tour of Scotch 80s that reveals one of the most storied neighborhoods of the 80s; and Motel Madness: The Rise and Fall of the Mid-Century Motor Court.
A fan favorite, the Martini Tour, offers a behind-the-scenes look of an iconic, yet rarely publicly seen location. This year, the Martini Tour will be hosted at the Westgate Resort and will give an inside look at Elvis’ over-the-top penthouse suite, relics of his dressing room and a backstage tour of where he prayed before his shows. The Vintage Vegas Home Tour, another professionally-guided attraction, allows walkthroughs of some of the most beautiful and unique homes of vintage Vegas.
App-guided driving tours will be an additional new offering allowing guests a peek into the side of Las Vegas history that HHLV has not previously explored. These tours give a glimpse into what Las Vegas is like beyond the casinos, all while showcasing why the preservation of this history is critical to the Southern Nevada community. There are tours and excursions for guests of all ages and interests.
Ticket pricing begins at $25. To purchase tickets and to learn more about Home + History Las Vegas, visit homeandhistorylv.com/upcoming-events/.
