HOLLY MADISON TO SERVE AS GRAND MARSHAL FOR
OPPORTUNITY VILLAGE’S
2017 LAS VEGAS GREAT SANTA RUN
Mayor Carolyn Goodman, Chippendales, Human Nature and more to celebrate the 13th annual charity fun run
New York Times Best-Selling author and TV personality Holly Madison will join a sea of Santas to proudly serve as the official Grand Marshal of the 13th annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run. Returning to Downtown Las Vegas on Saturday, December 2, Las Vegas’ favorite fundraiser will also welcome Mayor Carolyn Goodman and The Strip’s famed Chippendales as the one-mile Kris Kringle Jingle Grand Marshals. Guests will enjoy special performances by the cast of Human Nature, Jennifer Romas’ Sexxy featuring Gabriella Versace, Santa and Mrs. Claus and, of course, the beloved OV Elvi – the world’s only all-Elvis dance troupe; with more entertainment to be added.
“It is an honor to return to the Las Vegas Great Santa Run to serve as the Grand Marshal for this year’s celebration,” said Holly Madison. “I always enjoy working with Opportunity Village and I look forward to seeing the community come together to celebrate this wonderful cause.”
Known as one of Las Vegas’ most jolly fun runs, the internationally-recognized Las Vegas Great Santa Run raises funds and awareness for Opportunity Village’s programs and services, which provide unparalleled opportunities, enrichment and support to more than 2,000 Southern Nevada residents with disabilities and their families. The holiday event will return this year to compete against rival Liverpool and others for the international title of most Santas gathered for a fun run through the “World Santa Alliance.”
Registration is now open for the 2017 Las Vegas Great Santa Run at LVSantaRun.com and is $45 for general participation; free for children three and under; and $10 for canine companions. The package includes a five-piece Santa suit, a runner goody bag and a commemorative medal from event sponsors. Group discounts are available by contacting [email protected].
About Opportunity Village
Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization that serves people within our community with significant intellectual disabilities, to improve their lives and the lives of their families. Seven families who were determined to give their children with disabilities the best lives possible founded Opportunity Village in 1954. Now, more than 60 years later, Opportunity Village is one of the most recognized and respected organizations of its type in the United States. As Nevada’s largest employer of people with disabilities, Opportunity Village serves more than 2,000 individuals annually, providing vocational training, employment, habilitation and social recreation programs and services that make their lives more purposeful and interesting. Opportunity Village citizens – individuals who were previously considered unemployable – work at Opportunity Village’s Employment Resource Centers and in jobs throughout the community, collectively earning wages amounting to more than $3.7 million in 2016. They are hard-working and diligent, proudly paying taxes and happily leading more fulfilling lives. Primarily a self-funded organization, Opportunity Village generates the majority of its operational funding through its employment contracts and fundraising efforts such as the Magical Forest and Great Santa Run, saving Nevada taxpayers more than $37 million annually.
