The UNLV athletic department and women’s sports teams along with the Las Vegas Aces organization will come together to honor the 39th annual celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, February 1, by hosting a free sports clinic prior to the Lady Rebels’ home contest that afternoon against in-state rival UNR at the Cox Pavilion.
The morning will begin with a free sports clinic involving players and staff from several athletic teams at UNLV and members of the Aces organization will be helping put on the event for kids in 8th grade and under at the Thomas & Mack Center. Doors will open for registration at 10:30 a.m. for registration while the clinic begins at 11:00 a.m., with different stations set up across the TMC floor. Following the event, all participants are invited to attend the UNLV Lady Rebels rivalry contest against UNR for free, with the game tipping-off at 2:00 p.m. in the Cox Pavilion. All participants will receive a free rally towel, two tickets to the game and kids always get in free.
For additional tickets, visit UNLVTickets.com. Tickets for the game are $6 when purchased in advance and online. General admission tickets at the door are $10 ($8 for seniors, UNLV faculty/staff and alumni). UNLV students and Nevada high school students (presenting student ID) as well as all children 12 and under enter free.
NGWSD is celebrated in all 50 states with community-based events, award ceremonies, and activities honoring the achievements and encouraging participation of girls and women in sports, starting back in 1987. The national-wide celebration is jointly organized by the Women’s Sports Foundation.
