The George Announces Weekly Entertainment + NYE Celebrations

The George Sportsmen’s Lounge Packs the House with Action:
Weekly Live Entertainment, Sports Viewing, Patio Parties and NYE Celebrations
The new sports lounge is now open at Durango Resort & Casino

The George Sportsmen’s Lounge, now open at Durango Resort & Casino, is rolling out an exciting seven-days-a-week entertainment lineup that will align with televised sports games and events each week, along with a New Year’s Eve celebration featuring The Dan Band, which is now open for reservations.

The lively sports lounge will feature a lineup of nightly DJs, comedic and immersive entertainment during sporting events and live musical performances. The restaurant’s name, which pays homage to the classic Vegas “big-tipper,” will put a modern spin to what it means to be a George, and encourage people to not just be at the party, but be the party.

The concept, created by restaurant mogul and CEO/Founder of FINE Entertainment Management, Jonathan Fine, wanted to develop a sports lounge designed for anyone to enjoy by incorporating diverse entertainment experiences that go beyond the norm – some anticipated and some ultimately unprovoked and unexpected.

“Our goal is to create an immersive experience where guests can enjoy their favorite sports games while also being part of the entertainment,” said Jonathan Fine, CEO and founder of FINE Entertainment Management. “While we may be located off-the-Strip, this is still Vegas, so there are no limits when it comes to putting entertainment at the forefront. We want to create an atmosphere that will truly wow, whether you’re stopping by for a drink or fully dining with us to watch a game. Our guests will be surprised, entertained and are encouraged to be part of the show, because that’s what a George would do.”

The George will host dedicated viewing parties for some of the most anticipated games in the sports calendar including primetime football games as well as all Vegas Golden Knights hockey games. From championship clashes to iconic matchups, guests can immerse themselves in the atmosphere of these events while enjoying the lounge’s premium amenities, such as tabletop gaming, betting and patio games.

An ongoing entertainment schedule will feature:

  • Nightly DJ sets at 9 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays and 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays (weekday sets will start at 10 p.m. if it coincides with an evening Golden Knights game).
  • Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays during football season will feature viewing parties and musical appearances from Vegas localite and former American Idol contestant Mikalah Gordon.
  • Home and away Golden Knights games will be televised in the restaurant and surprise acts/performances will be carried out throughout the game. Select games will also host the Drumbots, the official drumline of the Vegas Golden Knights.

In addition to nightly entertainment, The George will also go big for holidays and special events, starting with New Year’s Eve. Patrons can celebrate the turn of the year in style with The George’s New Year’s Eve four-course, pre-fixe menu complete with a music setlist by DJ Soxxi all evening long and special performances by The Dan Band on the patio.

The pre-fixe menu is set to feature the choice of Spinach and Artichoke dip, Honey Sriracha Grilled Shrimp, or Gorgonzola Crusted Lamb Chops for starters; Crab Bisque, Mediterranean BLT salad, or Summer Tomato Burrata salad for the second course; Petite Filet Oscar Style, Lobster Fra Diavolo, or the Umami-Dusted Halibut for the main course; and the choice of a Peach Cobbler or Chef’s Choice Cheesecake for dessert. Vegetarian options will be available upon request.

Reservations are available from 7 to 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight, priced at $250 per person. Special patio and show seating featuring The Dan Band are available from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. and are priced at $350 per person.
