Green Alliance and Blue Heron Held Event to
Promote Sustainable Living and Green Technology

Nevada ENERGY STAR Partners-Green Alliance and Blue Heron Design and Build hosted an event for real estate professionals on Sept. 19 to promote sustainable living, green technology and resource preservation. The informative event included a panel discussion with guest speakers from Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, Nevada Association of Mortgage Professionals, Southern Nevada Homebuilders Association and Coalition of Appraisers in Nevada as well as Blue Heron CEO/Founder, Tyler Jones as he shared the ‘The Blue Heron Vision.’

“Today’s residents and business owners, expect and demand the best performance at the lowest practical cost,” says Annette Bubak, Nevada ENERGY STAR Partners-GREEN Alliance president. “Contractors, builders and realtors are working together to meet those expectations in order to satisfy consumers.”

The panel discussion titled ‘Design, Build, Sell, Lend and Appraise Homes of the Energy Future’ was organized by Bubak and moderated by Linda Rheinberger of Las Vegas Quality Realty and Nevada Association of Realtors (NVAR) Past President. The Green Alliance, a 501 c 3 charitable nonprofit organization, is dedicated to thriving, sustainable communities with a focus on home energy efficiency. Through collaborative education and community awareness initiatives, Green Alliance has linked individual, community and national forces with a passion and purpose for the preservation and integrity of communities, state of Nevada and the nation as a whole.

The mixer was held at the Blue Heron 2013 New American Home. Blue Heron CEO Tyler Jones brought his team together to create a show home that’s the embodiment of the Las Vegas design build firm’s three-point vision.

“Blue Heron desert contemporary custom homes are designed with a focus on the indoor-outdoor relationship and a focus on sustainable design,” Jones says. “These important elements in design build are the cornerstone of what we do.”

True to Blue Heron’s long-standing commitment to designing and constructing homes that leave a small carbon footprint, the 2013 ‘New American Home’ includes renewable building materials and green amenities. The home has been constructed to achieve “Emerald” certification under the ANSI-approved ICC 700 National Green Building Standard and “Platinum” certification by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), the two highest ratings within the industry.
