Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas will once again become the ultimate destination to celebrate Mexican Independence Day. Beginning Sunday, Sept. 1, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a festive photo opportunity, the only traditional “El Grito” ceremony in the city and a must-have gift with purchase.
Throughout September, The Shoppes will host a complimentary photo moment for guests to commemorate the holiday. Starting Sunday, Sept. 1, guests can capture Instagrammable photos under the vibrant papel picado, a traditional Mexican decorative craft adorned with elaborate designs, near Smith & Wollensky throughout the month.
Adding to the festivities, Grand Canal Shoppes will once again host its annual “El Grito,” a Mexican celebration of freedom in St. Mark’s Square on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 11 p.m. As the city’s only event of the like, this lively ceremony will feature a march throughout the destination with a traditional mariachi band and folkloric dancers. The Shoppes will also welcome the return of Eli Zamora, contestant on the Mexican and American versions of “The Voice,” for a third year. The singer-songwriter will perform a passionate traditional Mexican Ranchero set to commemorate the holiday.
In addition to delightful entertainment offerings, guests can enjoy an exclusive gift with purchase and specials at select retailers throughout The Shoppes. With $450 worth of same-day receipts, guests can receive a special signature Grand Canal Shoppes tote bag. To receive the gift with purchase, shoppers can show receipts to Guest Services, located near Michael Kors September 13 through 16 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
