Donation Center Hours To Be Extended
For End of Year Giving Rush
More than 10,000 expected to donate for 2011 Tax Write-Off
‘Tis the season to donate. And don’t forget your tax-deductible receipt.
The last week in December is historically Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s busiest week of the year, with more than 10,000 people dropping off “gently used” goods at Goodwill donation centers before 2011 officially comes to a close.
To make donating more convenient, Goodwill of Southern Nevada will extend hours at all of its more than thirty donation locations across the Las Vegas Valley. Goodwill donation centers will be open 7am to 10pm on Monday, December 26th through Saturday, December 31st.
To find the nearest Goodwill donation center please visit www.sngoodwill.org.
Goodwill of Southern Nevada provides receipts to donors at every drop-off donation center and donation ambassadors can validate itemized lists when they are presented. For general guidelines, visit www.irs.gov.
The sale of donated “gently used” goods in Goodwill stores and on-line support Goodwill’s mission of providing job training, education and job placement services.
With ongoing double-digit unemployment numbers in Las Vegas, the need for Goodwill’s services has increased exponentially. Thanks to the community’s support, Goodwill of Southern Nevada has served more than 8,000 people and placed more than 1,200 people into jobs so far in 2011.
