Comedian George Wallace Brings Laughs and Maibock to Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas

Maibock returns on Friday, April 26

It’s that time of year, when flowers bloom and Maibock barrels get tapped. Headliner George Wallace taps the ceremonial keg of Munich’s oldest beer, Maibock brew, on Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m. at Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas. Pleasing the palate of beer drinkers since 1614, the brew holds an alcohol content of approximately 7.2 percent by volume.

Born in Atlanta, Wallace knew he wanted to be a comedian at the young age of 6. After graduating college, Wallace pursued stand up and within a week he was offered a writing job at “The Red Foxx Show.” He quickly gained popularity and in 1995 won an American Comedy Award for Best Stand-Up Comedian. Wallace has been on numerous TV shows and films including “Seinfeld,” “The Tonight Show,” “Batman Forever” and “Ladykillers.” The innovating comedian has been headlining at The Flamingo for more than eight years.

By tradition, the first barrel of Maibock is tapped at the Hofbräuhaus in the last week of April. Creamy and aromatic in flavor, Hofbräu Maibock sets the standard for all other bock beers and boasts the longest pedigree of all Munich’s bocks. Along with the keg tapping, the night will be filled with Jägermeister spankings and traditional stein-holding contests where competitors have their chance to prove they have what it takes to hold out the one-liter filled stein the longest.
