Fremont Street Experience Welcomes Race Fans
with 10th Annual RaceJam 2013
Celebrate NASCAR weekend with four days of free entertainment
Fremont Street Experience welcomes race fans during NASCAR weekend with the 10th Annual RaceJam 2013. Beginning Thursday, March 7 at 5 p.m. and running through Sunday, March 10, the extended weekend party will be rockin’ with four days of free entertainment.
Headlining the weekend is a 9 p.m. Saturday concert by KIX, a popular glam and pop metal band founded in 1978 in Hagerstown, Md. KIX is most recognized for their songs “Girl Money,” “Cold Blood,” “Don’t Close Your Eyes,” “Midnight Dynamite” and “Blow My Fuse” which reached #13 on Billboard’s “Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks.” KIX broke up in 1995 but continued playing together around their hometown a few times a year. Then in the summer of 2008 KIX performed outside their home area for the first time in 13 years at two of the biggest rock festivals in the United States; Rocklahoma in Pryor, Okla. and Rock the Bayou in Houston, Texas. Many music websites and attendees hailed KIX as “Best Performance” at both festivals. These were massive rock festival where KIX played alongside acts such as Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, Tesla, Queensrÿche, Ratt, Warrant and more.
Since then KIX has been performing more and more shows at festivals, casinos and biker rally’s across the country impressing promoters with their top notch performances and cult following of fans who seem to turn up in big numbers to see them play.
Throughout the weekend live performances will also be featured by Southern Stue paying tribute to southern rock; AC/DC tribute band Bonfire; country cover band Fairchild; The Jay Bolan Band bringing the best of classic rock to the stage; Ryan Whyte Maloney Band playing Honkytonk to new Rockin Country and country singer Sam Riddle.
All concerts are free and open to the public and parking is available at the Fremont Street Experience parking garage located at Carson and 4th Street. RaceJam is sponsored in part by Crown Royal and Captain Morgan. The entertainment schedule is as follows:
